Frustrating matchmaking issues on Twisted Treeline

Why isn't the individual rift rank taken into account when matching teams on twisted treeline? My team is silver 1 on TT and SR, but we got matched with diamond rift players on TT several times already. About 40% of our games in silver have atleast one diamond rift player in the enemy team. I know those are two different queues, but the difference of skill is obvious and those games are insanely frustrating and unfair. Games like those should never occur imo.

It's a tricky situation, since skills don't always transfer between maps. Different maps have different skillsets, so someone could be great on one, but average on another.

The "one guy boosting his friends" thing with ranked teams does get tiring though.

Call me insane, but I think there's something terribly wrong about having to beat diamond and platinum players in order to advance to gold.

I just started a new chat board about this exact problem, but from the other side. I'm Plat 3, and consitantly being matched with low silvers and even the occasional bronze who of course do terribly at this level. Even had a guy the other day who just hit level 3o and was on his 3rd ranked game ever GETTING MATCHED WITH PLATS lol. It's unbalanced and honestly not a lot of fun playing blowouts. They might as well let me que up with all of my friends are are silvers if they're cool with queing bronze and plat in the same game.
