More bans?

Riot has kept the 3 bans for ranked for a long time now....In that time riot has added more and more champs, I think riot should allow more champions to be banned in ranked. maybe 5 for each team?

bad idea more chances for your main champs to get banned

But there are more champion being added, besides, who cares if your "main" gets banned. the odds of the enemy team banning every champ you are good at is slim to none, and on top of that, why only have 5 mains? you should be good at a good portion of champs if you are playing ranked.

Why would you even think the total number of champions in the game matters in terms of the number of bans a team has?

Well what are the most picked in bans? Darius, vayne, garen, etc. Over time the numbers of champs players want to ban increases. The more champions riot adds, the more team comps that open up. The point of bans is to eliminate champions a team just flat out does not want to deal with.

Fair enough.

But every ban also raises the number of champions you need to own to get into ranked, that will eventually become a problem as the barrier of entry becomes too much of a hassle for new players.

There is also the problem of being able to lock a whole team out of their mains if you have 5 or more bans. It is also possible to target a single team member with all the bans to his champions, forcing people to main more champions then the number of bans to at least be safe.

The more bans you add the bigger these problems become.

Then to compensate for that add another level of price for IP go up from the 6300 and go to 7400 or something for the next tier of champions, and in doing so increase the levels to play rank to lvl 35. Or just simply lower the price of champions overall. Or do something. Have you ever wanted to ban more than just 3 champions? I mean every time they release a new one its an auto pick. Then theres jax, yasuo, yi, darius, garen, poppy, firoa, vayne, nasus, etc etc etc. We need at least 5 bans to make up for all the new champions added.

Now you're just needlessly complicating whole other systems. Plus your suggestion makes the situation even worse.

Increasing IP prices just raises the bar even more, now you need not just more champions to qualify but the champions also cost more thus raising the bar of entry for ranked even further. This is not what compensation is, this is the opposite.

Lowering prices would help, that would actually be compensation, but champion IP prices have an impact of the relative value of RP prices, I doubt we'll ever see price reductions to champions as a whole, Riot likes making money you know.

Levels are linked to mastery points and rune slots, raising the max level without also increasing those two factors is just confusing and unnecessary. And you can't just add extra mastery points and rune slots to the game without affecting the balance of the game so that's no solution either.

Personally I don't really care about bans, probably because I don't play ranked where its a good tool for increasing your odds if you understand the pick/win rates of champions. There are very few champions I have a problem with and even then only when I play certain champions, relying on banning them is not a solution, its a crutch, and while it can be a tactical crutch you are still better served by changing your own play style to deal with them.
