How do provisionals work?

League of Legends Match History

Hello Summoners,

So I just finished my provisional, winning 6/10 games. In those 6 wins, I carried my team or had a strong KDA (Ranked match history linked ) . I was placed in Bronze 1 after this, so I'm wondering what in the world Provisional matches are based off of? I read in a few threads that it was win ratio, but in my case that doesn't seem to be accurate.

Thanks in advance,

Edenjal

This season, they are very heavily biased towards your previous rank (from last season), though I have no idea how that works if you hadn't hit level 30 or hadn't played ranked last season.

Not exactly your old rank, but your mmr.

There were a lot of people that messed up their rating asfter they secured their rank and thus dropped a lot.

New level 30 get an average mmr for ranked.

I've heard the first games of the 10 are more important than the later games, but I'm not sure. Also, any dodges count heavily against you - did you dodge any games in your provisionals?

I was Silver IV Last season, and no I didn't dodge any of the provisional matches. Just so confused XD I'm not insanely phenomenal or anything but I was hoping for S1 or something.

I'm much better than I was last season, by a long shot. And even then I was given S3 after my provisionals, which I think were 4/10.
