Adaptive Items
Just a musing -- and I understand that its a somewhat new concept in league still -- but why is it that we have no adaptive itemization. The games hybrid items have long been built with just separate build paths but with the introduction of adaptive bonuses I feel there is an opportunity to redesign some items with adaptive in mind. A prime candidate could be
which has had identity issues between its two upgrades of late, so why not make the upgrade itself adaptive and convert into
for ap builders and
for ad builders rather than have this hackneyed "YOU CAN'T HAVE BOTH, CUZ!"
Taking that idea further, why not consider something like adaptive ranges for perhaps
which could have a melee and a ranged version. This is probably too out there for most folks but I think it's at least a good exercise for getting outside the box. I understand there could be some issue if we made everything adaptive because it would be too volatile but I think that if it were used for some full items (tier 4?) it could be fine. On someone like

it could certainly be interesting. Just imagine a Nidalee that was drastically different between forms. She could potentially be an ad cougar and an ap human.
