Tips! What I have learned while climbing from Bronze to Gold on 5 smurfs in the past 3 months

So in the past 3 months I have gotten 5 accounts from Bronze to Gold. So to start I can assure you there is NO such thing as ELO hell for those that think it's impossible to climb out of Bronze because I have done it 5 times. If you are in Bronze or Silver it is because that is where you belong. Stop blaming others and fix your own gameplay. Yes, sometimes games are not winnable but in every game I guarantee you can look back and see something you did incorrect that could have helped.

Things I have noticed in Bronze/Silver that keep them there. Some of these happen in higher ELO's too but nothing close to what I see in Bronze/Silver.

1.) They play WAY to many champs and have not mastered any. I have looked up many players and find they have played 50+ different champs. Stick with a handful of your VERY best if you want to climb. You won't climb playing every champ in the game. You are NOT a PRO!

2.) They take a brand new champ into ranked that they have never played before. This is totally dumb. You are almost 100% gonna lose the game.

3.) People are TERRIBLE when it comes to cs'ing. Many times only have 1/4-1/2 the farm they should. This is so important and I CANNOT stress it enough!

4.) People play either way to passive or way to aggressive in lane (they can't find a balance)

5.) When behind in lane they continue to start fights and die over and over!

6.) Towers are often lost within 10min because they fight and die too much. (If you are behind, sit back and farm under tower!) STOP FIGHTING!

7.) People chase for days and die for it over and over

8.) Some people have pretty good mechanics but fail to win because they can't close out a game after laning phase ends.

9.) People split push when they should group push and vice-versa (situational)

10.) HAPPENS A LOT People will port back to base after winning a team fight to buy their shiny new item instead of taking an objective (tower, dragon, baron, OPEN INHIB) even when the ACE was right in front of the objective. Have had many times where we could have ended the game but people leave instead of attacking the nexus.

11.) They don't push and win when they have a HUGE lead. They just wonder around and let the enemy team catch up.

12.) They constantly push a lane alone with no vision and get caught over and over again.

13.) They have the most retarded builds. Stop trying something new. Go to probuilds.net or solomid.net to find current top builds. Stay away from mobafire!

14.) They don't itemize against their opponents. I see people build armor when they should build MR and MR when they should build armor. Pay attention to who you are facing and who is fed. You don't need to stack armor against the 0/8 Ashe when they have a 9/0 Ahri.

15.) They NEVER ward. You have a trinket. Use it. Also BUY pinks!

There are many other things but hopefully people in Bronze/Silver can look at this list and it will help them.

You contradict yourself on the go to a website dont try something new and then say build to fight your opponent. That follow the pro builds on a website is not a good tip, in fact generally dont try to be a pro you are not a pro. The champs they play and builds they do fit their needs not everyones you need to learn to read builds and situations. If theres a strong mundo or vlad you build griveous wound not the more damage because of hp one. If the team has tond of armor rush armor pen, etc. Also Dont play popular champs just because they are just popular Example zyra is very hot right now but that doesnt mean you should play her if you are not a fast caster or if they have someone to counter her already. Also stop force playing a champion when the situation calls for you not to. Example dont pick gragas if your mid is oriana. Play amumu jungle or a jungle that can carry her ball to the enemy.

Hey, just felt like dropping by and letting you know that nobody uses the term Elo Hell anymore, everyone simply blames Dynamic Q, because playing with/against premades in low Elo is somehow supposed to be bad.

Elo hell is Silver and Platinum. Silver is full of people who got boosted to Gold for rewards, and Platinum is full of players who got boosted to Diamond for the Border & Icon.

Bronze ,silver ,gold same shit.Actually gold 5 is the worst.Cause of all these boosted animals ,who want rewards at the end of the season.I "ve seen so many silver 2-3 players destroying gold 5-4 players in lane so hard that its not even funny. This entire season is elo hell.

I know at least 2 players that got boosted to gold 5.

Now they bitch about elo hell cause they can't climb. Bitch please, if you got boosted to a rank you don't belong to you can't climb.

But the worst part is that these boosted fuckers punish real gold players ,who deserve to be in this elo and climbed by themselves. And thats why this season is a cancer. And that dynamic crap is the reason of this cancer.

Imagine how silver feels with the boosted bronze players. Because its so easy to get to silver you can usually carry 2 or 3 people but as you get to silver 2 and silver 1 these carried players are heavy as hell to carry when they feed someone on your skill level that now has a huge lead on you. While you carry luggage.

Or even worse, you get the brand new account in first-time ranked promos being matchmade into silver 1-3. They own minimum number of champs, probably don't have the right runes, and have basically no understanding of any element of the game.

It isn't the same shit at all. You obviously don't know.

What I learned from you.... You have way too much free time on your hands.

16., They rotate to mid lane by default, even if the enemy is already missing 2-3 turrets, even an inhibitor there while their sidelanes are down at most 1 turret.

17., They want to push for the win off of 1 taken inhibitor, even if neither team is much ahead.

18., They want to sneak the dragon early with no wards while the full enemy team is up and there is no information about the location of the other team's jungler.

19., They prioratize kills over everything. I regularly see teams in a strong position to take dragon or fight for it if the other team tries to contest peel off into the enemy jungle because a single enemy showed up on the minimap, only to get massacred by the enemy team.

20., They have no sense of when to engage and when to back off. The series of events of taking a neutral objective at the cost of cooldowns and a bit of health then suiciding into the enemy team occur frequently. (AKA the post dragon moronfight.)

21., They pick for themselves, not the team. Teams form regularly without a front line or magic damage.

22., They pick plain nonsense (champions not even remotely viable in the roles they got) at times.

Nice additions. I forgot #16 especially. This happens almost every game!

That list is pretty accurate from my experience. I have climbed two accounts through silver this season and working on a third. I still play on my main, but I largely use the two other accounts to practice (warm up games prior ranked), to play ranked with friends, or to practice a new lane or different champion.

I don't mind playing with some friends on my main account in ranked games, but I prefer randoms most of the time to almost all my friends. I think there are only 3 people on my friends list I trust to queue ranked with on my main.

You didn't mention toxicity or the inability to play from behind. I think those two go hand-in-hand, but the blame games starts really early in games because none of the players in the bronze or silver elo understand how to play from behind.

It's easy to climb on a fresh account with a Silver1-2 MMR. In other news, the sky is blue and ice is cold.

So your argument is that you can prove ELO hell does not exist by playing accounts that aren't in ELO hell. Makes perfect sense!

Temilconnel1 votes

Did you not read my post? The accounts were in BRONZE! 2 were Bronze-5 with 0 LP. They were NOT accounts that were unranked that start in silver ELO!

So did you int feed in placements to get that low?

I regularly seem most of these mistakes even in Platinum.

It never really gets better; people just suck a little less.
