Harsher Penalties for ARAM Champ-Select Abandons [or an Alternative]
I don't know if this is a majority opinion, or a minor one or anything, but the current frequency that I see people quitting because they didn't get "the exact roll they wanted" it absurd. I go countless games with trash rolls or champions that I get consecutively that I don't want to play, yet SO OFTEN when I get a great roll (Katarina, Jhin, Soraka, Sona) in ARAM, someone ends up quitting and then I'll get back in with an absolute garbage roll again.
Does anyone else think we need to have these people punished harder? The whole point of ARAM is to get a random thing, use your rerolls if you want, and then get stuck with it. It's RNG. These people quitting are clearly not playing it for its proper purpose in mind. They don't get what they want, they leave and ruin everyone's rolls, only to get back in a few minutes later? If they want a specific champ, they need to pick summoner's rift. It's ridiculous how easy they get let off.
If you don't want to punish these people harder, I suggest an alternative: the option for a free "keep or reroll" if a player abandons your last ARAM match, but BEFORE you can see your teammates' rolls, and you only have 10, maybe 8 seconds or even as little as 5 (so people can't communicate to anyone on Voice Chat if they're a premade, in time). This lets you either pick your GREAT champ you got in the prior roll, and keep it, or get that "free" reroll that you'd normally be getting otherwise. This can both prevent stacked teams as an implementation of this feature, as well as allow for a better compensation to players, like me, who get fucked over by these people that abandon when we get a good roll.
On another note, jesus christ the frequency that ARAM matches are 1-sided nowadays are absurd. It's at LEAST every other game now. But that's beside the reason I'm making this post.
If anyone has any other ideas, surely reply. If you agree or disagree, voice your opinion. No stupid arguing though, please.
