In normal games, My team has 200 wins while the enemy team has over 2 thousand ???

I've only been playing a few weeks and talking with some other new friends we were wondering why we keep getting owned so hard by players that seem pretty experienced

I'm only level 20 with like 70 wins and after looking at our enemies after games they have 1 thousand wins each!

A typical game, my teams total collective wins are about 200, while the other teams total collective wins are 2 thousand! Thats a huge gap of experience, and it shows, the games are just not fun. No matter what I do or try to defend my teammates they just keep getting rekt. It even happens all the time when I get matched by myself

It seems like its because the experienced players are grouping with smurf accounts or their new friends, which causes them to be matched against 5 new players, meanwhile 2 of them are really experienced.

Here is a picture that shows the win differences

I dont understand why this is the way it is I mean I understand one game in a while but lately its like 3 out of 4 games are unbalanced like this, my teammates are all noobs while the enemies have multiple players who have been playing 1-2 years

Does the game have like virtually no matchmaking system at all for non ranked games? I dont like the pressure from always worrying about my rank, I like to play normal games but this system just seems like it matches anybody with anybody without a care in the world which to me shows lazy dev work and not any effort at all for offering newer players a good experience...

That sucks. It happens though. Matchmaking is a bit wonky sometimes. Don't let it discourage you though! It's nice to see new players these days. If you ever want someone to play with btw, feel free to add me.

Well, you are getting paired with experienced opponents because:

-You/your team is pretty good, congratulations.

-It's difficult to find a good match for your team, since you are under level 30, match making always tries to put you ona 50-50 scenario, something really difficult to achieve when most player base here are level 30.

In fact, matchmaking is MMR based instead of level based, BUT it does partially take into account the overall level of players (it's not 100% level based in order to avoid smurf dominance).

tl;dr your team is good for your level, due to the same reason, matchmaking has a high grades of standard deviation. Prepare to have games where you totally dominate and then followed by a game where you are totally owned.

Even as a silver player I get matchmaking against plats and sometimes diamonds nearly on an everyday basis. I almost never see silvers in normals. Golds are fairly common.

It's difficult to matchmake for a team of mostly level 30s queued up with 1 or 2 new players without making the game feel shitty for somebody.

You were playing at their level. So you got matched with them.

Yeah, I was playing normals the other day with a bunch of unranked people (I believe there were 3 of us and 2 randoms) against two players who were ranked Plat 2 and Plat 3. It was over from the beginning. A new player still learning mid trying to go against a Plat 3 Zed? Forget about it.

EDIT: by new I mean not experienced. He's still on a level 30 account, so level shouldn't be taken into account, I wouldn't think.

There is a thing for normal MMR and as far as playing with people paired with smurfs/low level friends there just honestly isn't anything you can do about it. It comes down to luck of the draw. I would recommend talking to them in game, most players with experience don't mind giving advice if they are asked nicely (keyword nice, not "Yo smurf give me some advice"

Yeah, the matchmaking is pretty much totally broken. I get matched almost exclusively against either silvers-diamonds and get completely stomped, or get those people on my team and completely stomp(level 27 here). Just gotta suck it up and hope the next match brings good fortune and similarly-skilled players.

One of the main problems is the Yasuo was almost 100% queueing with the Wukong. This means the matchmaking tried to find a match between the skill levels (with the levels being S5 and a probably bad lvl 8). As such, it figured level 19-20 people would be the average and matched them vs you.

As a side note, this is why queueing with lower skilled people is unfun for the other team.

This game has been out for a long time right? This is an issue that I would think should be fixed within a few months from release, I just think of the countless poor souls who had bad experiences over the years from this terrible matchmaking

It doesnt even seem that complicated to fix, just add an extra few lines of code to prevent a team with a certain number of wins to be matched against a certain number of wins, What I think the reason aside from laziness is that Riot doesnt want to have longer que times, but that is a bad choice. I would much rather have to wait a few extra minutes for better quality games
