I want to get good at Thresh. Help me friends.

I love his kit, and his look is neat. I've never been great at pull champions, and don't know any strategies for him. What do I need to know to be a useful Thresh player?

I've been watching youtube videos of gameplay so I have an idea, but direct advice would be great.

Oh yeah and is there a distinct way to get better at pulling? or is it just a "git gud" situation for me?

I stopped playing Thresh yonks ago, but the main tip I always had then was to flay first then go for the hook. It may be flashy to get those long range mega hook plays, but it's much more effective this way.

Psychology with the hook is good too, you can get better results just by standing in positions where you COULD potentially thow a hook but not throwing it. Saves mana and the cooldown whilst zoning the enemy still, mind games.

The flay first part, very true. Also see that Psychology part with the hook is what I meant in my comment, it really is a mindset

Play him AD Top for a while. You will get familiar with the nuances of his kit much faster than going pick focused support.

I'm horrible at giving advice and just putting things into words in general, but I'll try something. Once it comes to landing those pulls, it's mostly a simple mindset. Someone could have just downloaded League for the first time, of course he won't know his way around League, but that has nothing to do with player movement(for the most part). He could be landing script worthy shots within his first ai or pvp match, not because he's good at league, but simply because he payed attention to his opponents commonly used maneuvers and such. Watch your opponent, does he constantly go side to side, circles, sit still, etc. (me for example, in lane I never stop moving and I never stop changing up my pattern, and because of that I cannnnnnot count how many times I've been called a scripter, just because of a simple mindset/trick!)

So next time you go to pull someone in, ask yourself "where is he about to naturally click to" because not often does someone sit still while farming, and most of the time they actually use the same little movement pattern (which is natural until you have figured out the key to dodging which is to totally randomize that pattern while telling yourself, "he is about to cast for me, time to move" BAM dodged, youre now a 2000000 IQ scripter!)
