Discussion: Does Honor Level Affect Matchmaking?
This account is a smurf account of mine and I had a 74% win rate and had just gotten into Plat 4. I got chat banned for saying: "these retards are inting" which was a 2/18 bot lane. I've seen worse things in games and I shouldn't have been chat banned and had my honor reset, completely ridiculous. However, that is for another discussion. The quality of my games, after being banned, has tremendously dropped. I am consistently getting toxic players on my teams, and my lanes lose practically every game. Mind you, I'm a jungle smurf. I am not just simple blaming my team for my inability to carry, I know that I can carry these games. I did it up to Plat 4, with a 74% win rate, until I got banned. Riot might say that honor level has nothing to do with the quality of matches, but I know that is a blatant lie after having had this happen on multiple accounts. Albeit, on those other accounts the chat bans and ensuing honor level resets were warranted. But 1) I have never had such a ridiculous chat ban and 2) I have definitely assured myself that Riot intentionally lowers the quality of matchmaking in correspondence to honor level. It's pretty shameful to be honest, that an entire account gets deemed unworthy because my bot lane fed, I tried to console them, tried to carry, tried to win, and they continue to intentionally feed. I then call them retards and get chat banned and honor reset? Because I called out a bot lane that was trolling? Come on now. No one in the real world cares if you call a bad person something bad. So why should I be banned for saying a SINGLE insult, to a bot lane that is trolling in my game? Okay... I'm really close to being done with this game for good after coming off a 6 month break.
I'd also like to note that I am definitely not a honor level 1 worthy player. I am constantly consoling teammates who are raging, flaming or whining. I try to calm them down and get them to play their best or at least minimize the bleeding. I thank my bot lane for leashes, I recently stopped making jokes of any sort (light hearted or not, because everyone in this game seems to be a bunch of butterflies), thus I'm a gleeful fairy running through the jungle. I try to give players constructive advice: "hey Cait, next time when we get a kill bot try to just push 1 wave and base with us, that way you wont get killed" and I get a response of "fuck you, KYS %%%%%%" (yeah he doesn't deserve a chat ban amarite RIOT?). I hover a lane because my bot lane is feeding and they, as expected, try to fight the enemy bot lane and are going to die if I don't assist, but against my will we all die. But according to my support I forced the play and caused them to 7 times previously and that I shouldn't ever gank their lane again. I say "okay" and am later reminded that I never ganked bot. Yes, I know I am ohh so toxic :(. I shouldn't have tried to diffuse the situation, I shouldn't have tried to gank, I shouldn't have done anything apparently because my feeding bot lane knows all. But hey, I'm the toxic one MEMBURRR? Hey, when I get that sick ass baron steal and say: "TY for the leash" I'm toxic, it's not friendly banter or anything and the "Fuck you insert champ suck my dick, I won" was definitely not toxic, at all. He shouldn't be banned amarite. Ohh wait, you say he just might get chat banned? Ohh shit, he's in my next game and does the same thing, only he's on the losing end this game and still flaming along. Good ole' Riot Games, banning the "toxic" players and not at all properly reviewing chat logs, because computers are perfect right? "But you've been banned on multiple accounts!!! ERMAGERSH!!!" Yes, almost all junglers are subject to the baby rage disease of their teams and if you, like me, at all frequently communicate in an attempt to facilitate your team's cohesiveness you are subconsciously more responsible for everything in the game. Thus the blame gets pinned on you, and when you aren't a beta and try to defend yourself, you automatically get labeled "toxic" by the hoard of low elo scrubs. THE END
