Solution to broken solo queue matchmaking

I'll state the problem with current matchmaking and the solution.

Matchmaking groups 5 individual MMR ratings against a similar group of 5. However, some people may have a higher MMR with certain roles and especially with certain champions. This means if they get the champion and role they want and are best at against a team in which everyone gets a champion they're relatively unskilled at, then the match's MMR is not balanced.

To fix this problem I propose that when entered into champion select, you are randomly assigned a lane and a lane opponent with similar experience in that lane. If you are a 1800 MMR main mid with lots of experience playing mid champions and have accrued a high KDA and/or winning percentage with Ahri, Azir, Annie, etc. in that lane, then you shouldn't be playing against a mid laner who obtained a 1800 MMR playing jungle champions and has little experience and poor statistics with mid champions.

So... I go to lolskill see who the chump on their team is, and who the superior is... have people lane swap and disadvantage the higher MMR lane and pub stomp the lower one... how did that fix anything? Or do you plan to redesign the Rift with this so people can't go to other lanes?

I'm not sure I understood you correctly. You cannot look up the other team during champion select. After the game starts you can see who their weakest laner is, but he/she will be matched against an equally weak laner. So, yeah, you could switch lanes and stomp but your weak teammate would have to go somewhere else as well. Maybe take your place against your strong opponent.

So.... how did that fix ... anything? Your "solution" is to "Match people up" ... so anyone can just lane swap and mismatch it again once the game starts... not rocket science... your "fix" doesn't fix anything.

It fixes the problem: mismatches. If you want to all pick AP support champions and build 6 thornmails, then you can do that too, but, assuming you want balanced matchups, you can take the recommended assigned lane knowing your opponent is of equal experience in that area as you. If you don't feel like taking the assigned lane, then you can fork it over to a teammate who may or may not be able to handle it as well - so if he feeds, and you look up lolskill and see it was his first time Garen vs a Lvl 5 Irelia, then you have only to blame yourself.
