Why did you make Malzahar broken for no reason?

So you give a mid-lane mage a BETTER Sivir shield, without needing to activate or pay anything, every 6 seconds? Who was the genius at Riot who thought this was a good idea? How does this even make it past testing???

A mage puts out serious magic damage, (usually AoE), at the cost of having a squishy body. That is a mage's downfall. So what do you do? Give a MASSIVE damage reduction AND cc immunity to a mage? For FREE?? You justify this by saying he pushes the lane too far and gets ganked too often? Thanks Riot, but that is EVERY CHAMP IN THE GAME's problem. I can push a lane to tower as teemo, or lux, or brand too. Does that mean all of these champs should get 90% damage reduction and cc immunity every 6 seconds? In order for this passive to be allowable his damaging abilities would have to be scaled SO far back that he couldn't kill anyone anyway. The fact that Riot needs to do something like this to try to "re-stimulate" interest in League is beyond ridiculous. There was nothing wrong with Malzahar. There is no explanation as to why a champion that was perfectly fine was given a completely broken passive, other than the fact that Riot is stirring things up to try and make players continue to play. In fact, if this is their plan it is backfiring severely. I have just returned to League after a long break and now that I have seen this I am considering taking an even longer break.

Please Riot, fix this huge mistake.

Just reading the notes back when they said they were reworking malz all I could think is "well he's going to be OP". Even before they released the most recent patch notes I decided I am going to ban him in my games.

lol reminds me of Morde rework

"He's supposed to shit on you in lane, his counter is that he has to push and therefore will be vulnerable to ganks"

"And if I have a shit jungler?"

"Huehuehuehuehue"

Yeah if a champion's counterplay relies on a 2v1 it's kinda fucked up. That's not balanced.

You do realise that the 6 seconds is only at lvl 18, and if you are still laning at lvl 18, you are doing it wrong(how many games do you even get to lvl 18?). I love how people see something that is only in game at very late game, and calling it a problem for the laning phase. How to fight him would be to shoot a low cooldown skill at him, like an auto attack, then unleash your damage. If you want to fight him, take someone like Swain or Azir(any of the bird champs come to think of it...), mildly tanky, sustained damage people who can pop the shield with a throw away spell(or just an auto attack), then get back into the fight while its down. Swain especially would be a good counter as the more voidlings there are, the more targets he has to heal off of.

Not to mention, at lvl 1 it is 23 seconds without taking enemy champion damage to get the shield. If you take even a single tick of Morgana's pool's damage, guess what? ANOTHER 23 SECOND WAIT! lvl 2 it is 22 seconds, lvl 3 it is 21, and so on, so forth.

So will he be strong? Yes. But hardly the apocalyptic strength you are predicting.

Short version: Mal counters burst people, so get people who kills you over a few seconds to fight him.
