Is their any point in playing ranked during preseason if I am unranked?

Will playing ranked have any impact on my rank next season if I didn't play any ranked last season at all?

It will change your mmr, but if you're like the rest of the community, which is about average, you'll most likely get a better rank because chances are your starting mmr is better than your "actual" mmr.

I think wait till next season.

I am not 100%, but I believe if you play ranked now, they will make you do 10 provisional games to determine initial rank. Your first try, will almost always place you silver. But next season, you will always get placed 1 division lower (bronze). So save your free silver boost until January. If you use it now and get to Gold, fine. But you just played a lot of games to only start back in Silver next month.

It depends on if it's a new account or an old one. if you've ever ranked before, then yes, it's worth doing. Your mmr is about where it left off the last season you played ranked, so winning games will improve your placement.

If it's a new account, your ranked mmr isn't set in stone yet, and you'll get a better placement if you just wait for a new season, because your placements begin around a gold MMR and drop/raise you from there, depending on how well you do, and which games you win (early games are harder, but if you lose them, your remaining games will be at lower mmr's. If you win them, the rest will get harder, but your placements will be higher

It is a less stressful way to get better. I vote do it
