Season 6 Placements - Why so many Bronze 1?

Hello everyone. Right now I am 3-0 in my placements and was Silver 1 at the end of the season. Last season was my first and I placed Bronze 4, fell to bronze 5 and then improved and climbed to silver 1. While doing my placements this time I have been playing with people who were gold 4 - silver 2 or so last season, approximately what is to be expected from someone with typical Silver 1 MMR. Last season and in the preseason I was recieving about 20-22 lp per win and losing 18-20 per game.

So this brings me to my next point. In my 3 ranked games this season only 10 people in my games have been ranked. All 10 of these players who have been ranked were placed in Bronze 1. Why is that?

Should I be expected to place Bronze 1 as well?

If you will get 10/10 you should expect s5, 9/10 will give u b1. 6-7/10 b2-3.

Ive been in games with people who have gone 8-2, as well as 2-8.. Both have gotten Bronze 1

I find that if you go like W W W L L L W W W W you have better odds of placing better. Losing early or late will dramatically affect your placement.

Yeah.. Ive talked to people who have gone 2-8 and 8-2 with gold4/5 MMR and they're all getting Bronze 1. And everyone formula I see people post just doesn't make sense with the results I've seen.

I have a friend on my list who was G4 and got B1 lol. 4-6.

Ull prob drop to bronze as well, unless u get lucky.. u could wind up with s5.. but don't be shocked, cuz everyone is getting hit atm.

Don't let it bring u down ppl have been hit from plat 2 to s3... I myself went from g1 to s1, I'm 75 lp in tho being 3-0 after being placed... should be gold again in no time.. u can do the same.

If I wait a month or two for ranks to level out would I still be placed Bronze 1, or would it be closer to what I was previously?

Honestly, I am going to just get it over with. I've played at Silver 1 for over a month now, which now makes me know I can play in that elo with no issue. I usually play with high Silvers + mid Golds, so even if I get placed into Bronze 1, I know I'll be able to get out with ease. Keep in mind that you will also be finding people who have had similar fates in these games and will be far better than their laners. My suggestion if you get placed poorly is to play a carry role and spam a champion you know you can win lane vs any matchup and snowball hard. Remember that the difference between Bronze and Silver is even pretty massive. Watch some Bronze games and see how poor they CS and build during the game. Even if you out CS and build properly, you will climb. Don't fret man.

Ur gana get hammered no matter when you do them.. I mean its not as bad as you think tho, generally your MMR is going to be way higher than ur rank, so you should be winning like 25 LP and only losing like 13 or some shit.

Nah they are giving everyone bronze this year. I had a friend who was gold last season and stayed gold. played this season did adc in all placements and went way positive avg 4/2/6 and 240 creep per game average. got bronze 2.... also his bronze games seem like gold games. everyone has 200+ farm at like 25min and not many kills on either team. idk but seems like they handing bronze out to people just cause
