The PBE and what it does
What is the PBE Right now?
- A place for skin testing and adjusting
- A place for testing re-works and new champions for bugs
What the PBE is not, but what I beileve it should be.
-
A place for testing different concepts for things the community asks for (things that could be iffy and change balance)
-
A place to test things like extra bans, something the community has been asking for a really long time now but hasn't even seen Riot think about. Ex:
This patch and previous to this patch players have been complaining about the OP mid laner with no weaknesses and #LCSbigplays, Riot acknowledged this, and agrees. Why not make some damage changes on the PBE, or energy changes? Why not see how these things pan out for Zed, will it be healthy? Unhealthy? Isn't that what the point of the PBE is? To test these things out and see how the community reacts?
Why not survey the PBE community a bit more and make some more changes? Lately it's been more bug testing and skin testing, not balance testing.
**Why is that? **
I mean I understand the PBE is a great place for bug testing and seeing how the community reacts to planned changes, but why not make changes the community asks for, and see how they react? For all we know it could be great and healthy for the game, the community could love it, it could also be the opposite.
Ex:
I like that you guys made the current Ahri changes on PBE, and i like that the community is reacting to it. It's not really in a good way but its a reaction, which is nice. Although a lot of people haven't actually tried it before claiming she's been "gutted" bc they keep up to date with pbe without being in it.
Just to sum it up, you have a place dedicated to making balance changes and bug testing, and I don't think i'm the only one who'd like to see more balance changes. The community cries out for some of these changes, Why not at least give them a chance?
