Gangplank Ruined

Why did riot ruin such a fun champ? Gangplank is the only champ i have at any form of champion mastery, and i have mained him since S3, and now Riot have completely ruined him and took the fun out what was in my opinion the best champion in the game.

Please bring old Gangplank back rito

I liked old GP's kit and personality a lot more. However, new GP is definitely more flexible.

Those barrels are OP. One of old GP's biggest issues was build pathing, and thanks to his new passive and E he can finally build tanky and still contribute late game. He no longer needs crit to deal good damage. As someone that used to only play Gangplank (mainly in the jungle though) back in S2 this is what I always dreamed of for him.

I don't fancy the old GP that much, he was fun tho. Old GP>New GP.

I didn't play the old Gangplank, but the new one is very interactive. I like how he needs to use his Q to build upgrades for his ultimate and by killing multiple minions with barrels destroyed by a Q, you get multiple stacks of Parrrrley. Gangplank, as I see it now, can be an extremely annoying (and fed) champion mid to late game with the extra gold he is stacking just by doing something we all should be doing all game: last hitting. Whether this was something he did before or not, I don't know, but right now I like where he is.

you used your q before with avarice blade to get ahead on gold and by 10 minutes be almost a full item ahead

Is it the new character and appearance that put you off of the new Gangplank, or is it his new kit?

Because the former I can sympathize with... But I fucking love his stupid ass barrels. In a game today I set up a chain of barrels while taking top and shot the one in the bush to set them off, making the punk bitch ass Jinx back the fuck out from under that turret lest I shoot her in the face. It was awesome. I can't see how his old E can be considered better, tbh.

both, I loved the old passive for the slow and dots on q's and auto attacks, and the speed buff from the e allowed you to chase and have more mobility whilst buffing your teams ad and movement speed to get assists and more gold to get fed quicker

the new gp is more fun than the old one, and has more to contribute to a fight than running in, poking with q and running back out.

his barrels are devastating when used properly. he even seems to do well with a support on bot lane, which is kindof funny.

his ult upgrades are interesting, and his waveclear becomes godlike.

after my team lost a skirmish, i came running in close taunting the enemy team after setting up a couple barrels out of vision range. i then threw a barrel into the enemy teemos face when they started coming for me and exploded the one i set up earlier, killing him in the backline. since the barrels slow and i detonated it with a q from range i just casually walked away.

it was hilarious.

you need to plan ahead and set those things up in strategic spots. if you do use them properly theyre tons of fun. especially on critplank. his passive + ignite alone is amazing.

Sorry to be "That Guy", but you're Bronze V, you have no such thing as a mastery.

Besides that, GP was by no means viable, I still don't consider the new one to be specially so, but at least he provides more to the table than just the crit minigame.
