always jng fault··19 votes·7,380 views

Finally aram isnt just "Better poke team wins", maybe poke champs are weak or just permabanned but before they make aram so unhealthy for every other champ who doesnt have large range that they deserved the nerfs

Rito pls keep the changes

Explain why this needs to be an unpopular opinion. Why can't you just title this "I Like the ARAM Changes"? I personally don't like clickbait, I'd appreciate if you would just title your post based on what it's about. I'll still click it.

I like the changes in general also.

Now this one is on the front page. My point is whether an opinion is popular or not doesn't matter. Let people judge your opinion on its merit, and not on its popularity (which let's face it, op doesn't know for sure whether his opinion is unpopular or not).

No, this is the popular opinion. Literally the only people who hate these changes are the people who only bought the top 10-15 aram champs.

Yes, I am enjoying ARAM more than before. I got sick of seeing Veigar every damn match but now I get to ban him! (Or anyone else that becomes annoying.)

Kledy McKledFace2 votes

No don't. Irelia is already a total failure of design and balance in SR, now they made her worst in aram. Revert all changes that buffed her ass

10 times better than face every game a lux , a xerath , karthus , fiddle on aram pre nerfs

Banning Champs? What part of all random doesn't include all champs (not just the ones not banned). Some ppl play ARAM to get away from the fail mode they call draft/ranked.

And before you say "Oh you are just a smurf account that hates the changes because you were exploiting them. Because there couldn't possibly be anyone unhappy with the changes." Check out my Summoner Icon... and read up on how you get it.

Wait, which players get to pick the champion they want? All Random literally means that everyone gets a random champion. You now have the ability to specify which champions you choose not to lane against.

You said it yourself "You now have the ability to specify which champions you choose not to lane against." IE removing champions from the pool. Logic dictates this isn't all random. Get it now?? I am sure you don't.

TLDR; The game isn't All Random anymore because of the stupid ban system.

But that wasnt random, ppl doge/reroll champs who where bad. now u have more diversity thanks to bans and nerfs

have you dodged a ARAM game ... have you seen the timer you need to wait to get in game. I will do you better have you dodge 2 ARAM games and seen the timer? Yeah please don't comment on something you don't play regularly.

Even without bans, ARAM currently doesn't include all champs. Players are still limited to owned+free champs. Bans simply apply an additional global blacklist on top of the existing personal soft-whitelists (via only buying some champs).

All random isn't all when there are bans. I don't see how that is so hard to understand.

LTK KoRo2 votes

cool, but the point of everyone else is that All random wasn't really all random even before the bans. If you're seriously whining about ARAM being not 100% random then you should whine about it since it got introduced as a official gamemode

Bjørnetjenesten2 votes

item 4026 should be adaptive so you can use it on AP bruisers and battle mages.

Psi212 votes

I would say ARAM was the boot camp in learning how to play against a champ a new player hasn't seen before. And how to function as a team and in a team fight. How to priorities tower over enemy. And for the new player who has a pool of maybe 15 champ how to master other champs in that pool if their favorite wasn't available.

These changes just babied the mode for those that want only a win/handicap while ignoring their most hated champ. Rather than learn to face them.

The new items maybe map specific but don't teach melee champs how to deal with range champs in Riot's precious Rift. You know the game mode they say dies more and more with each rotation mode they add.

These changes made a challenging game often more challenging than Rift any day more boring (ha ... boring like rift actually)

One last thing as more experienced ARAM players have seen. ARAM changes to towers has made it much more productive to have your team go static lethality or Mpen (not percent) for these stats effect damage to the enemies tower much more sharply.

It now is possible with these types of item made up teams to go back and forth but have a better chance at a break away to clear the towers in fast push to end the game. IE weakened towers are weak.

Too many things were not thought about when they rolled out these changes.

They aren't exactly changes. They are experiments to see what happens, and how players handle things. Some of them might become permanent, I highly doubt most of them will.

balbraaksel2 votes

It's a statistical fact that this change makes it much more likely for players that have all champions unlocked to get bad ones while the ARAM accounts still get all the good ones because they didn't unlock the bad ones. If 30 champions are good picks then 10 bans will only make ARAM accounts get those remaining 20 good ones, but the ones that have all champions unlocked have a 30% reduced chance to get a good champion.

ARAM accounts: 10/30 banned, still get 100% of the remaining 20 good ones. All unlocked champions account: 10/30 good ones banned, before it was a 30/143x100=21% chance for a good one, now it's 20/143x100=14% chance for a good one.

The numbers are mostly hypothetical to keep it simple, I didn't need to really get the exact numbers to make my point. I have all champions unlocked by the way, 7-8k ARAMs played.

balbraaksel1 votes

I want to add that it's even WORSE than this actually since the ARAM accounts technically reserved good ones for themself since 2x the same champion can't happen, the game is forced to roll them a good one.

SanKakU1 votes

I don't fully believe that, they aren't going to want Ziggs who got double nerfed, and probably not Lux either since they likely have no intention of playing her as an Enchanter. They'll have to grind another account to get the unnerfed or irrelevant nerf champs set up on it.

But why don't they add a random pool that players can put whatever champions they want in there to level the playing field?

balbraaksel1 votes

Apparently it's possible to get unwanted champions deleted through support, at least that's what someone in a reply said to me on YouTube.

Yeah that change can work but it's a fundamental change to the game as well which not everyone would appreciate, I think many just want to have a chance to get forced to play something that's bad and attempt to still perform on it.

Apparently it's possible to get unwanted champions deleted through support,

Confirmed. You have to put in a support ticket, and they double/triple check that you are CERTAIN you want the champ gone, but they will do so.

SanKakU1 votes

Wow, that seems silly. It's like they're empowering the ARAM only accounts then so they don't have to repeatedly grind new accounts. That seems like Riot support doesn't fully understand what they're doing when they do this.

SanKakU1 votes

Yeah, I feel like they could get a chance to be forced to play something bad still through team compositions. Also, I personally think that people use team compositions as an excuse to give up more often than they actually talk about bad team compositions. Which they could do regardless of whether they can edit their pool.

The problem that every single person seems to completely miss here is the underlying MAJOR ISSUE in ARAM: tank meta.

If any team has even just 1 more tank to the other team and that game extends past about 18 mins, then typically you can pretty much guarantee (or nearly guarantee) the win will be for the team with the tank.

So what is happening with this ban is that everyone is removing the top tier damage dealers from the pool, and leaving trash and tanks. For me personally: I hate playing trash characters.... but the worst is the tank meta just got a massive boost to an already nearly insurmountable existence!

I really hate that in any discussion I've read on ARAM that every single time we just skip right past the BIGGEST ISSUE that ARAM faces... for the past 4 years tank meta has reigned supreme.

(The reason tank meta isn't even a thing in SR/pro tour is because the ramp of the game is over before tanks become too tanky... however in ARAM, the pace of the game means that tanks over scale any damage and it's pretty much mathematical at around the 18 to 20 min mark... which if anyone actually plays ARAM can say that the bulk of the games can easily make it to that time point.)

Banning champs literally plays STRAIGHT INTO the tank meta - at least in week 1 it is... what my dream is either of these: 1) players completely don't even vote - literally removing NO champs OR 2) players ONLY VOTE out tank/bruiser characters like scion, mundo, garren, aatrox... etc....

People who are banning zigs, veiger, teemo, etc... these people are hilariously pushing the tank meta which is HIGHLY more precise a victory than even the ultra best Ziggs you'll ever face.... these tanks literally just roll their faces across their keyboards with literally ZERO skill and will literally face felt your most skilled damage once the game hits past about 18 mins. Every time. Nothing you can even do.

While I get to permaban Anivia, I also see Blitzcrank banned most games :(

A small price to pay, though.

I only play ARAM, I love this revamp. Even the ban, it feels weird, and some champ end up removed from the game 90% (Veigar, Mundo, Ziggs,..), but it makes setups more random and diverse. Now one thing I hate is the normal community, they invaded this mode due to revamp, guaranteed toxic speech. So bad mannered. ARAM players will confirm this, that's not how it was before patch. Can't wait for the normies to go away tbh.

Elipo1 votes

I lile the bans.

I really dislike the new shield.

Besides that I like the Aram items.

I understand some balance changes being needed but for some champs the nerf/buff was excesive. We went from pokier team wins vs tankier team wins. I think they had to go a little lighter on some balance changes.

I like the map but the rats disgust me so much. So I'm ok with it not being permament
