Get rid of dodging in ARAM

It's All Random, All Mid.

Riot needs to start enforcing it.

Change the queue such that if a game lobby is disbanded, all 10 players are given the champ they had at the time of the dodge. No more incentive for players to circumvent the spirit of the game and screw over everyone else in the process. We've all stuck with champs that aren't our favorite, so it sucks that much more the odd time you DO get a great pick only to be returned to the queue because a player took his ball and went home after they didn't get what they wanted.

I'm sure a lot of people would be unhappy about that. Too bad. Why are you signing up to play a random champ and then back out if you didn't get a specific champ? You can always create a new account where you only unlock champs that you prefer in ARAM.

The reroll system was meant to give players SOME flexibility with their random champion.... what good did it do when I have to queue into 3-5 lobbies before a match is created? Poor game design that is abused by the majority of players because they can get away with it.

Do your job Riot.

I agree dodging should be dealt with but we're talking about a playerbase that gets banned and rolls a new account just to go do it again.

The only way they can succeed is punishing innocents. Maybe if you leave a lobby, you get locked into that pick for ARAM or something-- but again, it is supposed to be random. And a lot of champions who are weak in ARAM are only weak in a comp that doesn't buff out their weaknesses; they could land into a comp that greatly favours their champion.

I mean, the only thing they can really do is a prisoner's island-- get a dodge count that lumps you with other high dodge counts. But Riot doesn't like these scenarios.

I have wanted to say this for a long time and you did it for me in the best way possible.

Thanks, man.

What are you expecting them to do about dodging though? It's a thing in almost every online game.

It's in the first paragraph - if a lobby is disbanded due to a player dodging; those players get the same champ again until the game successfully launches.

There's too many people out there that just think a lot of champs are "bad". You might not have the 'dream team AP poke comp' but that doesn't mean you lose. Tanks and bruisers scale very well late-game in ARAM and even a team that struggles in the first 75% of a match can come back and win.

And considering you don't know what the opposition's comp is in the lobby, I don't buy the excuse that people dodge because their team's comp is "bad" - that measurement is relative to the opposition's composition.

I also wouldn't object to very large ban timers which start at 12 hours and increase from there - this timeout being specific to ARAM queues only and such players are still free to queue for any other game mode. I think it would weed out those habitual dodgers by not even making it worth their time to continue that practice (if they wish to continue playing ARAM).

I don't mind it. I personally don't do it because of the punishments, but if we have a particularly bad team comp (all supports, all one type of damage, no tank etc) someone usually dodges and it increases my win rate.

Better option may be to make things less random by assigning a random role, then giving them a random champ in that role (eg: tank, mage, support, dps/marksmen etc)

Or perhaps a whole team reroll is another option

Most people dodge because they want some legendary team comp or a champion that they know they can carry a damn ARAM game with. In my opinion, a solution to this high quantity of dodges in the game mode could be to simply keep the champion that the dodger had. It would be pointless just to dodge if you were gonna get the same champion again. As for team comps, I'm not sure. Dodging is one of those problems that seems like there is no solution too, even with the timer sanctions. I do agree it can be annoying, though :/.

It's the people that dodge just before the timer runs out that need the harsh bans
