TFT GA doesnt work all the time

Had a 2 star Volibear that got 1 shot by a 2 Star akali. Volibear had GA, RFC, and Darkin (Demon Spatula Item). My volibear did not revive. Is this a bug or because akali had Morellonomicon? Does Red Buff and Morellonomicon treat GA as healing and cancel its effect?
