Hey guys, I main jungle but I've recently began playing in the top lane. I enjoy playing melee champs, mostly Jax. Whenever I play against Darius, (with anyone), I usually get stomped, or just end up with 10 CS per his 70. Can you offer any advice, or point me in the right direction (link) to possibly not fall off or become useless for the entire game.
Kaioko1 votesDon't let his axe swing hit you on the edge. If you're going to insist on playing Jax you need to play safer early as he will be stronger than you during the laning phase until your triforce is complete.

Baron Barian1 votesJax is a close-range late game fighter. Darius is an early game lane bully. You're picking a terrible match-up right there.
You can't even die to him. The less kills he gets, to sooner he falls off. You have to play super safe, stay out of the range of his Q and E, and try to out scale him, or bully him back with poke. You have to really fight dirty to beat Darius in lane, or let yourself lose lane without dying so you can beat him in late, and maybe even mid game if you get well fed.
Gall1 votesTake trades where you can be on the inside of his axe swing, while also only trading near minions. Initiate by walking up and holding E, getting a few autos in with W, then after E stuns Darius Q to a minion (closer to your turret) to get out of the fight.
Rushing sheen may help with this type of trading too. Or you can rush tiamat and play safe while farming under tower.

Enderspider1 votesplace a ward behind you, whenever he reels you in, just jump to it. careful not to jump before he reels you in as he might cancel your jump then.
C9 Squeeky 1 votesWhen Darius uses Q (spin), don't get hit by the blade. The blade does more damage than just hitting hit by the handle, adds a passive stack, and heals him. Jax E blocks darius autos/W from applying his passive I believe. End the trade before he gets 5 stacks off, at 5 stacks he gets a lot of bonus AD. You have a stun, he only has a pull. You have a jump, he's immobile. Use that to your advantage
