No third token, no blue essense, champion shards too rare

Ok, so, I got an S- and got a token on my champ that I have 610k mastery points on. Got a token. Great. Played another game, got S+. No notification, but I did get a second token when I looked at my hextech crafting page. Ok, fine and dandy. Just played another game now, and got another S+ game. This time...no token. Can you only get 2 tokens when level 5?

As a separate issue, I have gotten exactly 3 champion shards since release, which I had combined into a free permanent champion. That was a few weeks ago, before they announced how mastery 6 and 7 worked. So...I have no blue essence. I had some RP left over, so I bought a total of 9 chests and keys (I know I know, but I really wanted that mastery, and had already spent the money so...). Guess what. I got 9 skins. Am I just unlucky? I can't get a champion shard to save my life to turn into blue essence. I don't even have any confidence that even if I were to buy more chests, its unlikely to get me champion shards for to get blue essence.

I've gotten every "free" chest, currently on 14 chests since release that way from unlocking by playing champions and getting an S- or better on them. By my best calculations, I've gotten 3 champion shards after opening 21 chests, or a measly 14% chance, and most likely, I'll need two shards to get 500 essence, making my chances even lower. Please help Riot, this is driving me nuts.

Lol damn ya that's some shitty luck. I have like 400ish blue essence, I've combined for champ permanent, and I still have 2 champ shards that I could do whatever with. I did buy I think 10 chests/keys but so did you so ya, bad luck man sorry. I guess just keep playing? Lol, bound to get some eventually.

Yes. Those tokens are used only for level 6 of the champion you earn it on, and you only need 2. The tokens for level 7 are different.

As for how hard it is to get essence or the right champion shard, Riot said they'd be adding in the option to buy it with IP in a later patch.

You only need 2 tokens and blue essence for mastery level 6 I believe.

I got it on Sona as soon as it came out, and now I'm sitting with 3 Sona tokens but no blue essence. item 3151

All I've gotten is champ shards...and I own almost all of the champs (the only ones i don't own i don't really want.) I've gotten 3 skins (2 of which were in the first chest) and about 7-8 champs...all of which I already own.

Update: Finally got 3 more key fragments, unlocked a chest last night and...another skin shard :(. So, 22 chests unlocked, 3 of them champion shards (gotten long ago), one ward skin (which disenchants to orange essence only, should be able to choose blue or orange?), and 18 skin shards. I am getting some nice skins, don't get me wrong (Guardian of the Sands Xerath, Wildfire Zyra, Battle Boss Blitz, Haunted Maokai, Radiant Wukong), but I wanted to unlock that champ mastery :P.
