Help me please

So I am kinda new to league, I am a lv 19, but I just started playing vlad, and I read that wota was removed. Apparently he was op before when he had it, but now I am having a difficult time with him, I have read guides, done some research too. I usually only die when I am too aggressive in lanes. That is something I don't do too much though. I usually go top or bot. But games will either end with me being fed (very, very rare) I will get a few kills late game (I know that's his strongest point) or I will go 1/12/28. My problem is that I don't really get many kills, but I have a very very hard time in the laning phase, I usually lose my lane. 2v1 matchups I get crushed, but I almost always lose my lanes in 1v1. Any tips would be great. I may not respond tonight because I have a swim meet. But as I said any tips, tricks, advice, ect... would be wonderful. Thank you all, good luck in your upcoming games.

Laning is hard for new players, it just takes practice. The best advice I can give is to focus in last hitting minions, not killing your lane opponent. The whole point of laning is to get minions.

For Vlad in particular, be sure to use q as much as you can to keep your health up, if your opponent isn't gonna let you q them don't wait around just use it on a minion. Also, be aware that your w and e cost health. Early on you can pretty much kill yourself by spamming them.

In terms of items, I think the best starting items are dark seal & three potions or dorans shield and one potion (remember to use potions if you get below 50-75% health). I think the best build right now is spirit visage into rylai's against AP opponents. Maybe just rush Ryali's versus AD. Remember that itemization is always situational.

There's a lot of things to consider when laning, but I would just recommend starting with one thing (i.e. last hitting) and then move on to the next once you get the hang of it.

Good luck!

The problem is not related to Vlad. Its just that you lack the basic knowledge of positioning, proper trading and last hitting.

Just keep practicing, try other champs to learn their weaknesses, and be a self teacher. If A didn't work well, then maybe you should try B. Or maybe you did not execute A properly.

Learn to look at how you play, and find the root of the problems.

Get caught out often? Map awareness. Your enemy gets items faster than you? Last hitting. I just died 3 times to the same enemy? Don't fight him anymore.

OK thanks for your feedback, I will try to learn as much as I can, and know I will get better with experience, but as a start, I was wondering if you guys had feedback on how I play. I always start with boots of speed and nothing else (I rarely die early game, early mid is when I get crushed) this is when I can build up to ionian boots for the cooldown on my Q early on. I usually basic attack minions when I'm at full health (So early on when Q has a longer cooldown I can always use it on champs if they get too close) and I always keep Q on cooldown, either on a champ or minion to keep my health up. And Q is always my first to max. But usually when I am in a lane with someone and the other champ(s) is at low health I will run in while holding E then Q and W, by then I can use E and Q again or vise versa. I normally don't go on offense too much cause it will usually get me killed. And R when necessary But I always first build either Abyssal Scepter, or Spirit Visage, And usually I stack those for CDR. But for my spells I run Teleport and Flash, I like them but if there are others that could work better that would be great. If you guys are interested I could post my gameplay so you could see what I am doing in more detail, but last hitting might be my biggest problem. I almost never get caught, so I don't have much of a problem with getting ganked. But I played Zilean before vlad and never really had a problem. But I really like vlad and want to get better
