Many of my friends and I love pinging enemy locations, and texting mid game with many mispelled or mis-pinged moments... yet there is nothing like being able to talk to your team, team of randoms even, to communicate to each other. Sure, there will be trolls, foul language, and stale players who wont chat at all... but still, I wish Riot already had something working in play. Consoles got it with ease... What yall think?

While it's a cool concept however I wouldn't want voice chat to be a standard but remain as a choice, that would be nice.

But there is a HUGE issue with implementing. Think about harassment...people being told to kill themselves...and the reporting system. Does Riot now have to record all the voice conversations and review them? I dont even want to begin to think about it. Consoles have it, yes. Somehow they make it work. But leaguers EXPECT something to be done when they report someone for being negative and harassment

Why would some people want others to hear them talk anyway? It's distracting to concentrate on talking/hearing while playing and it's also pretty easy to let others hear something you weren't trying to or meaning to let others know, which with keyboards one can practice self control way easier than with mouth.
But hey I guess the idea is fine, as long as it remains as an option. Seeing how META enforcing the community has become I kinda have my doubts now so I wouldn't want this feature to be official to be honest but that's just me aye.

Is league of legends not serious enough about their competitive scene that they can neglect voice chat?
I hate to sound like an asshole when I make fun of "people on boards" but seriously, If someone is toxic on chat they're gonna be toxic on mic aswell. Just mute / ignore them like you would to anyone. but at least you'll have 3 other people minus that one toxic guy to TALK to.
And to the objection where you think it would just be distracting / hard to concentrate... I dont know what to tell you but people in pro scene need a way to talk anyways so they do it on Teamspeak / vent / skype / raidcall / whatever! It doesn't matter but the thing people are neglecting is that Communication in competitive ranked games shouldn't be judged as harshly as the LP system we have in place without there being a commuication method such as Push to Talk.
Remember - Push to talk, not voice capture. Not everyone will hear your mom / wife / brother / sister in the background... you just push to say "mid mia" / "jungle @ red" whatever it needs to be then its done.
ANYONE who doesn't think Voice chat is a necessity has me dumbfounded.

EDIT: I am fine hearing others talk however, just me not being a man of mic.
