Our community is as toxic as ever.

Today I played a normal game. I usually play aram and hardly play normals. If I do, its with a full house. Today I played with just one friend. I know many are going to say, "You are such a baby." or insult me in any kind of way or just brush me off. But I just have to say something about my experience. It added another reason to not play normals or rank. In champ select, I was the first one connected therefore i should be able to see all of the role calls. I called support and I know its kinda funny to argue over support but anyway... So this other guy claimed that he called support first. I had no problem to give up support since his partner (i presume) called adc but i wanted it to be clear that i did indeed called it first for some reason (probably just for pride). If they asked nicely i would have given it up with no fight but they were rude so I stood my ground for a bit. Then the insults started from them both. I was stuck with jungle in the end. I said I wasn't good with jungle but I would try. I'm pretty sure they probably didn't notice cause they were too busy being... mean (I'm not going to curse in this post). Then the game started. I started off with my q as Amumu by accident so I was going to be behind cause I am sure they wouldn't help me with blue. I was really low after blue and I went back so I was behind by a level or two. We had a Leona top, a Veigar mid, and Lux and Warwick bot. If I remember correctly, in the end Veigar jumped on the banwagon too. So the only that wasn't insulting me was my friend who was Leona. I was confused in what to do. I wasn't sure when was the right time to gank since they had all pinged for assistance around the same time. Apparently Lux wasn't just satisfied with the role I gave up. After I screwed up in front of her, she called me retarded in all chat. I reminded her I can't jungle well like i said in champion select. She said don't ever jungle again. You guys notice something? Don't ever jungle again... I didn't want to jungle in the first place. I gave up my role so she can have the role she wanted. They forced me to jungle. I didn't have a choice. Team builder was a smarter choice at this point. It doesn't change the fact that they insulted me until the game was over. They told me to afk and all these things. It was so bad I started crying in the middle of it (funny since I was playing Amumu). I wasn't thinking right and in fights I started pressing the wrong keys. They asked the enemy team to report me. I hated that report option where you can report for being unskilled. It made no sense to me at least. I cried for a few minutes after that game. Riot, whatever attempt you are making to fix this community it isn't working. Go ahead, tell me "Deal with it." "Stop complaining." At the end of the day I know I am one of those few summoners that wouldn't insult another just because they don't play as well as a others.

I for one completely agree with you, am I saying the game is worth crying over? no but I have been in similar situations and it infuriates me. but do you need thicker skin? I say not really because people shouldn't be like that in the first place they should all be at least chat banned. I for one don't like muting players because even if they are super toxic I like to be on the same page as everyone when they are team fighting or whatever. but my only advice to you is to just try to stay calm and explain to them that they shouldn't talk like that to you because it is just a game and that you are simply trying to practice. if they continue to trash talk you after you ask them nicely to quit then they are just being trolls and then don't play for them just play for yourself and learn what you are doing wrong and keep practicing at it.

First and foremost, you need thicker skin. You have to be able to deal with these guys who whine and complain about this stuff.

Does it mean they were right? Course not! It does mean that you have to be able to zone them out.

So, second thing I'd suggest; mute them. People giving you crap for silly reasons? Mute them.

I do commend you for trying to stick to your guns, and not auto-locking a champion. Maybe calling your role a few times may help, as people connect at different times.

Finally, take a break. Hard to think of other game communities more toxic than League. Play some flash game on Newgrounds or something, or play your favorite soundtrack for a bit. Once you've calmed down, you're set to come back.
