I just got a message from the riot today: Placements Results

Your Solo/Duo climb begins at SILVER V this season.

Please keep in mind that almost all players will start lower than the previous season's rank.

Is this true? I'm D 3 now, does it mean i will start at S 5 next season? Or did anyone get the same message? @Riot

Typically you place about one full tier lower than your previous rank. It might be more than a full tier. I placed in Bronze I this past season after achieving Gold V in season five.

I was Silver II last season and got Silver IV this season, climbed back to Silver II pretty fast but idk why you guys are getting put extremely low...

TBH its more annoying to us in Bronze or Silver if Plat and Diamond people are getting put that low because you're all just going to kick our asses as you climb back through the low ranks lol
