Beginner Ezreal

Well, I'm a beginner, as in a beginner to playing any online games like this ever, and I've been hard core practicing and trying to get better but I feel like I'm not getting very far. I understand how everything works, but I can't figure out my strategy and my character build. I also can't seem to get kills at all. I've been playing Ezreal mostly as a character, and I try to build up armor and my magic damage stuff. Every time I get close to having one of the others dead, they seem to sweep in and just kill me dead so easy, and I can't get away in time.

Well, first of all, are you playing him ADC or APC? That means primarily building attack damage or ability power, respectively. Hybrid builds are usually horrible, so I wouldn't recommend it. As for building armor...Ez is a carry, which means that he primarily deals damage. Armor isn't good on him unless the enemy team has a lot of AD and you keep getting focused. You should only build defensively if you need to, and the enemy is enough of a threat that they require you to have some defensive stats.

As for tips...practice last-hitting in custom games, learn to regularly check the mini-map, learn what each skill does for the champs you play, and I'd just recommend looking up builds online until you just know what items you need. Other than that, just get a lot of experience playing the game; it helps a lot.

I've been playing him with ability powers. I try to gain health and ability power.

Well, honestly, I'd say to drop the health until later, when you're building defensive items like Banshee's Veil (grants you a spellshield and magic resistance + HP). Like I said, Ezreal is a carry, and a mid game carry at that, so you'll be wanting to put out as much damage as possible as soon as possible. If you're going AP, your main damage skills will be E, W, and R. His Q is only really useful for slight poke and lowering the other skills' CDs if you're going AP.

I'd personally recommend trying out Ez as AD and AP to see which one you like better. Also, ignore the recommended items in most cases. A lot of them are outdated or suboptimal.

Alright. Thanks. I'll try out both and see what works best for me.

No problem! Ez is a great champ to learn because he'll help you learn how to correctly use skillshots and predict enemy movement. Good luck!

CDR es numero uno

Mechanics wise, he can pretty much e out of/through any form of cc if your ping is good enough

This is very true. I've blinked out of Thresh hooks and Blitz pulls; if you use it right before you're grabbed, it'll look like they CCd you, but you'll just blink away without the pull completing. It's a great way to annoy the hell out of enemy supports, that is if you have the timing down.

I prefer a straight ADC build with Triforce myself. http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/internet-explorer-ezreal-292061

If e is casting when cc hits you it WILL finish. Silences, stuns, vi ults (dodges damage here too lols) etc Honestly, given that ezreals q has his 1.1 total ad ratio and a .6 second cd if you score a hit with cdr build, applies sheen, it does far more damage while still being far safer than any other ez build. It's the best of blue and straight ad, and simply put, it's better than both.

Well, yeah, but it can be used right before pulls land to blink away. I know this is true because I've taken advantage of it multiple times.

Like i said. If it's casting it will finish. Blitz gives you a .25 second stun. Ashe arrows stun counts from the time it hits, including the time you spend e'ing. And so on.
