%damage is nothing special anymore

Hi guys,

So you know % damage is on nearly all new champs, mostly melees. Riot want %damage, so your champ deals allways a relevant amount of damage with this spell, but i see problems with this idea:

  1. Nearly all items with armor or magicres got a good amount of hp aswell, so its basically like buying resists dont counter %-damage in any way.

  2. % damage is original a special kind of damage to deal more damage against champs with high hp and worse vs champs with less hp, while wirh flat damage its reversed. Why we got truedamage, % do nearly the same?

  3. When my enemies got champs like fiora,vayne,brand or mostly other% damage, i know their is nearly no reason to pick a tank and if iam firstpick i have a disadvantage.

  4. Do guys like poppy, maokai, sion and so on really all need %damage? I dont think so, they got many other abilities and roles to focus on than %damage.

4: Yes. Because without it they would get bullied. And have no damage threat at all in teamfights. Higher bases would shit on squishies too hard and ap or ad scaling is bad because they are TANKS.

%dmg on tanks makes sense.

On champs that also have normal damage like mages and bruisers/divers it's weird. Even as a unique identity.

On point 4: it allows them to actually trade in lane with some relevant damage against other top laners early.

So yes because it makes them interactive in lane (don't like how Mao does it though).

Indeed, it's nothing special coz you build flat damage and nuke the motherfuckers. Who cares about your 5% of 3000 hp (60) when I can crit your ass for 1k without caring whether you got 1000 hp or 5000.
