Graves' new R suggestion

First off, I'm pretty excited about the new Graves and what he will bring to the table. However, there is just one aspect of his kit that takes away from the shotgun "fantasy" in my eyes. "To help him deal with that, Collateral Damage now knocks Graves back substantially, creating a potential escape spell for Graves in exigent circumstances." - This is the line in particular. I feel like this almost gives a sense that Graves is too weak to handle his own shotgun and I have a suggestion as to what might help it.

Collateral damage now knocks Graves' initial target back X units from Graves. If the first target's body hits any enemies on their way back then they don't take any additional damage, but are slowed/stunned/interrupted/knocked up(pick one and it would be a very short duration). If the initial target is at max distance then they are merely interrupted for a brief second. This way the closer the enemy is, the further they will be knocked back to help him escape. It also opens up opportunities to use it for a good engage as well. I'm just spitballing here, but let me know what you all think!

In my opinion, I would rather have it like this: Collateral Damage Graves fires a shotgun blah blah dealing increased damage based on how close his target is to him. Which enforces his "melee bursty ADC" role. Also, the target is knocked back based on how much damage is done, and if Graves is within 200 units of his initial target, he is knocked back for the same amount. This keeps the interrupt ability you suggested as well as giving him a situational disengage.

Graves seems to be in a decent spot based on the PBE videos I've seen.

Personally, I like his ult as it is. But I feel like the partical effects are out of date. It's not always clear the Area effected by his ult actually is until you see the health bars dropping.
