Is there such a thing as a melee adc?

I'm not questioning the logic behind no melee adc's but I'm just wondering if there is a viable melee adc?

Yasuo and Mordekaiser were Riot's 2 attempts at making melee botlaners. We all know how it turned out.

MasterYi Fiora Yasuo Tryndamere

are melee adc and the squishy melee counterparts to marksmen.

and technically ad juggernauts are another form of melee adc. just that instead of being squishy and equipped with mobility and utility, theyre upfront tanky and slow.

Morde is the closest thing but you need the right support like bard or thresh.

there are a couple.

Fiora Tryndamere Yasuo MasterYi

Most of the classic definitions of Melee ADC's, Riot has defined as Skirmishers. Mainly Yasuo, Tryndamere, and Master Yi.

Like Marksman, they should be more item dependent and less level dependent. Which would be ideal for a Duo laner. The only issue is that the Marksman will constantly out harass, out push, and out bully the melee counterpart.

Yet these champs do make their homes either in the Solo Lane, Or in the Jungle. But because of that, it's difficult to give them any additional tools to counter range, that won't just make them even stronger where they are currently.

No there isn't.

Because ranged champions have higher dps, higher range, and get same benefits from every item. Getting more of everything, there is no way melees can compete.

yi and yasuo are semiviable bottom laners as long as you have a sustain heavy support that will let you keep up in farm until level 6 (janna, soraka, lulu)

EDIT: IT HAS TO BE CRIT YI or lategame will suck no berserker's greaves, either, he doesnt need it with two zeal items and his ult.

grasp of the undying Nidalee double's it's usage changing to melee well using. She can make use of melee items that other adc's can't like item 3742 or a item 3748 to do big burst with her Q you could call her the one punch nidalee xd

Oh did I mention she can heal herself in lane too? take that lousy brand supports she can't be harassed out of lane <3

melee+ adc [slayer-jinx-wink]

If you mean with adc 'major lategame damage-source in teamifghts', the only viable ones are Yasuo, Riven and evt Fiora, and depending on setup maybe Yi, and that's about it. There are some that can work that way in the midgame, but in llategame teamfights they don't have the needed tools and either fall off completely or go splitpushing. Even the once i named usually still prefer splitpushing, though they do have the tools to be off impact in teamifghts.

ADC =/= botlane.

VoraciousX6/3/2017, 10:04:05 AM1 votes

ADC = AD Carry. There are tons of them. Any carry champ with AD as their main source of damage is an AD Carry. If you mean specifically for the bot lane, Yasuo with a Malphite Support can be pretty damn cheesy. I remember one game I played bot lane vs the matchup and we were both fine, my support and I were sitting under tower and Malph just ults, Yasuo ults, and we die and they get away scott free. It was a pretty terrible feeling considering there was no power difference at the time and there was no expectation of that happening whatsoever. Granted that was a long time ago.

Adc stands for "Attack Damage Carry" right? so wouldn't most melee champs be adc's?

Critkeeper6/2/2017, 8:39:50 PM1 votes

you can play tryndamere bot lane in certain scenarios, but your team will need to buy void gates for siege later

'Auto-attack damage carry' is how adc is usually interpreted. My opinion is that most of these types of champions would work well with Leona bot lane (assuming they are forced into that one) provided that the combo can quickly and repeatedly farm minions under their own turret fire should they fall behind and be forced to do so. This can be problematic in many situations even with standard marksmen adcs but it is usually safer.

People have made it work. You gotta be prepared to take a lot of potential poke in lane, and need some way to farm in spite of that fact.

Off the top of my head, the streamer Yassuo occasionally plays Yasuo as an ADC, with specific supports. But he's a very skilled player, so results may vary wildly.

Skirmishers.

Darkdemon6536/2/2017, 9:03:56 PM1 votes

Yes, there are many.

Depends on how you define "ADC" tbh If you mean any main damage source with physical damage type, then yeah, there are a ton. If you mean marksmen, who use ranged autos while kiting to do their damage, then by definition, no.

Then there are champions who rely on AA for damage at close range, with other powerful defensive capabilities to compensate for the range. These include Yasuo, Master Yi, Fiora, Jax, etc. Official term is skirmisher.
