Just wondering what rank I'll get if I win all 10, haven't played ranked in previous seasons

depends on ur MMR. I've met people who got 10/10 placements and ended up in once bronze. I know people that got 4/10 and ended up silver.

It depends on how you play, the highest you can I believe is S3, and the lowest is B5. Odds are you will get bronze seeing as it is your first season, even going 10/10. I went 10-0 in my placements, and I got b5. I was silver last season. Took me all but 3 days to get oout of bronze haha.

My friend was silver 3, went 6-4 and got silver 4 -.- i was pissed

he only played 10 matches last season and 10 this for placements both times

Guessing it was because Of the Soft MMR reset, I did it right as the season started, so thats when everyone was doing it. I bet if I waited a month or so until the hype calmed down, I wouldn't have gotten placed there.

I have no reason to lie to you or make up stories but when I first played this game I played with my Brother(silver4 at the time) and a few friends ( all silvers) every so often we would play with our other friends who I know there names but idk if I can put them on the boards but ( they were Plat and Diamonds)

I would play with them in close to every game until I was level 30 but no one was thinking about MMR or Ranked etc just wanted to play together and have fun as there was close to 20+ and we would be in Skype/Curse calls together.

At the time Leveling up to 30 was hard because they told me not to buy runes until level 20, so I would get destroyed in lane, but I would get so much practice on how to overcome match ups without runes. So you can imagine that getting to level 30 was difficult and took some time( I don't know how long) so playing with Silver-Diamond+ players was a grind.

Once I hit level 30 I played Ranked and ranked teams won 5 solo games ended in B4. Won 4 ranked games with my friends in a row as they played 1 without me and we ended up in B4.

If it is your first time doing placements, the highest you can be is plat 5

Ok i only said one thing so idk why you said again, but plat 1 is only achievable if you had a good mmr the prior season. We are talking about first time placements

highest possible placement for a fresh lvl 30 account with no ranked history is actually Plat 4

My first ranked placements were in Season 3 and I went 10/10 and was placed in Gold 1. I've heard of others not placing that high so it may pull from your Normals MMR for your first placements or maybe they've changed things since Season 3 and you can no longer place that high but I was stoked lol

Youre so full of crap... over 200 games played and youre G5 with 0 LP. I just went 7-3 and got placed S2... stop trying to be a cool kid, its not cool. :)

In season 5 i played my ten games to get ranked, I won 8-10 games and got placed in gold 3. I was not good enough to be gold at the time so during preseason I dropped to like s5. Last season, and this season, I was placed in bronze, and this season I got to gold. Do your fucking research before you start accusing people of lying.

Last year I won 5 out of 10 with a KDA of 2. something and ended up in B4 having never played ranked. I ended the season in Silver 4. This year I won 7 out of 10 with a KDA of 3.8 Something and ended up in B4.

It depends on your MMR but also its a little random in my opinion.

I'm convinced that when you play normals a lot and if you play with people with high MMR, that you will get placed higher in ranked the first time you play. I think it does take your normal games into account for your VERY FIRST placements.

Also, I went 6-4 on my other account and placed in Silver 5. I did play a LOT of normal games with gold and plat people before I did my initial placement matches.

See I just don't understand that what so ever. My theory on KDA/CS per min/game is correct it seems. 1-2 years ago when I would watch pro streamers they go bananas over cs > kills even when the kills would be free as hell. I think if you play your placements with a decent CS per min(7.0-10.0) than you will get placed in high Silver/low gold.

Look I don't know Riot's algorithm but 2 things that matter when doing placements is your rank last season and the time of the year. Time of the year??? What do you mean? Well... throughout the year the algorithm changes. It doesn't really change but the rank you get changes a bit. Think about as being based on a percentage of the ranked population or your account having a handicap associated with it. At the start of each season, there is a soft reset on ranks. This reset can be thought of as a handicap on your rank. So if you do your placements at the start of the season, no matter what you go your rank should be lower than where you were last season. This is because of the soft reset and ranks dropping for the entire population on the server. The goal of each season is to climb to your rank and improve, so it makes sense players ranks go down.

Well as the season goes on the reset (or handicap) has less impact on one's rank as players start getting back to their actual ranks. Since players are ranking up, to keep ranked distributions even placements change so players don't rank down as far as they would if they did placements at the start of the season. I believe the two reasons for this are 1. to keep rank distributions the same. 2. riot sees it as the later you enter the season you less time you have to climb so you don't start as low of a rank. But most likely it really is because of the first reason.

So anyways, for all you players who say "well I went 7-3 and got silver 3" or "i went 10-0 and got bronze 5" please stop..... The reason you got those ranks is because 1. start of the season and soft reset. 2. your account was already ranked and your prior rank is part of the calculation. From what I can tell new accounts have same rankings no matter the time of the season. I could be wrong in this, but its not as dramatic as it is for previously ranked accounts.

Little late to the party but if anyone knows how it works these day feel free to comment. Like, is g5 still the highest rank you can start on a fresh acc with 10 - 0 placements?[sg-lux-2]

Also soft resets works like that: [zombie-brand-clap] Plat 1 highest placement rank thus all mmr lowered in low elo you'll have a mix of players with different skill levels thus as silver e.g you'll play vs a mix of bronze to low gold and prob get placed bronze. cuz either you get matched vs lower elo and win, still low elo or against higher elo and lose, get even lower mmr.

it was fine after a week or so this season tho, after the ladder starts to spread out and people are placed their respective ranks you will get matched with people your skill and obtain roughly the same rank as them. which is hopefully your deserved one.

worked for me; i had really shitty placements going 2/8 and still got s3. g4 promos in pre, placements finished like 8 days into season 8 [sg-ezreal]

If you have not ranked before I'm pretty sure normal MMR has a factor in your placements.

Im am the only one WHO have a god score but lose all ranked games cus youre team sucks write now Im 1-8 in ranked placement in all my game 1-2 feed so Much on my team that i lose. I was silver4 las season

i never played ranked before this season, i went 4-6 in my placements and got B1. i was sure i was ending up in B5 with a 4-6. really not sure how this system work tbh. my MMR was always quite a bit higher than average though (according to op.gg) , i guess that's why i got B1. if you want to check your MMR you can look up your name on op.gg

If it's your first season ever, it's Plat 1, if I remember correctly.

(For the records, if you played Ranked in previous seasons, your Placements don't matter as much, and whatever your results in Placements, you should be placed roughly 1 Tiers lower than at the end of the previous season, +/- 2 Divisions. E.g. if you were Gold 5, you should end up somewhere between Bronze 2 and Silver 3, no matter if you go 10/10 or 0/10.)

Plat 4 is the highest you can place on a fresh lvl 30 account winning 10/10 games

If you win 10/10 in fresh placements, you are likely to be placed around Gold 4 - Gold 1. The highest you can get placed is Gold 1 in fresh placements (if you played last season, the highest rank you can get is Plat 1). This all depends on who you play with and their mmr. Check their mmr with op.gg. It also depends on the matches you end up in, whether you are facing high gold players or low silver players...

It depends on your MMR, which is based on more than just winning and losing. The highest you can place your first season is low gold.
