Sona's Ultimate with Tritanomaly

Hello all! I'm extremely new to the forums so I'm not too-too sure if I have this in the right place. I sent in a question to Riot support and they suggested I talk about this here and get more opinions from the league community and maybe other Riot officials. I have a condition called Tritanomaly, which is a type of colorblindness that makes seeing blues and yellows very hard. Most of the time I cannot tell the differences between most green and blue colors. My problem comes in with Sona's ultimate. Her ultimate is yellow and when I use it on most of the map (the grassy areas and the rivers) it's nearly impossible to see. The only real way of knowing I used my ultimate are either a) I see that someone is stunned or b) my teammates are "enemies are missing" pinging me because I missed. The green and the yellow do not mix well for me and I've tried multiple Sona skins to see if it would help and the only one that sorta (and I use this term very lightly) works is Odyssey Sona because the end of the ultimate bubbles (?) up a bit. I am using the colorblindess mode on the client and it doesn't fix this problem at all. I was wondering if ANYONE also has tritanomaly and has this same issue? I'm a Sona main and I really don't want to have to stop playing her because I can't tell the range of my ultimate. Yes, I know I CAN use the setting that shows me the range of my abilities but honestly I hate it a lot. Do I just give up on Sona? Does the league colorblindess mode even account for tritanomaly?

After reading 5 threads about how "broken" a champ is or how the game is dying, I'm really hoping a Rioter sees this one over the other trash.

Nvidia has filters you can apply now by pressing alt + F3 if you have the latest drivers. I'm checking to see if Tritanomaly is selectable.

I attached an imgur post. There are 5 links, click the image then cycle through them. Let me know if that may be helpful. You can get a bright green indicator from what I can determine, which may help.

You can adjust the sliders in the control panel which may help you.

I wouldn't recommend buying DJ Sona solely for this reason, but the concussive form (the red form) of the skin has a lot of zigzag patterns in her ultimate, which might make it easier to see.

I wish League had more options that could facilitate the experience for people with health problems. In addition to some visual assistance, it would be really nice to introduce certain notifiers for globally announcing ultimates, such as Sion's (for people with hearing difficulties). They would be a very helpful addition to the game for many players.

As others have already pointed out, the best thing you can do at the moment is enable indicators :/

I know it's not ideal, but have you tried smartcast with indicator? you can set it up to where it's only binded like that to your ultimate I think

The colorblind issue has been brought up multiple times and they haven't addressed it. Maybe they will see this and respond, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I'm red-green colorblind and there are a ton of issues with color clarity that have never been resolved even though some have been noted by Rioters.

I can't see electrocute, the old dark harvest stacks on the ground, the indicator lines for Ornn ult, Cho'Gath ult indicator, Forsaken Jayce projectiles. All are incredibly difficult to see. They also seem to have been using more of that same dark red color in newer skins/champions like Aatrox, new Swain, etc., which only adds to the list of things I can't see.

I'm not sure if it will help, but if you have an nvidia card take a look at my post below. You can apply different color blind filters that may help you =).

if you have an nvidia card you can alt+f3 and have different colorblindness filters

The Arcade Sona skin ult (unless they've changed it recently) also has little arrows in the pathway. Maybe that'll help too?

But you also shouldn't have to pay to see, so

Have you tried to turn off Smartcast while playing Sona? The only ability that has any difference between smartcast/normal cast is her ultimate and maybe you can see the "aim" even if you don't see the actual ult once you click to fire?

I also have Tritanomaly, however I think you must have a much more severe version of it than I do. I only have issues with greens and blues, so Ive never had this problem. If you have trouble with yellow, green, and blue, then I don't think there is much in the way of helping with that, as colorblind mode just changes some green stuff to yellow :/

Since you are new we will let you know that response Riot gives out all the time and basically is a polite way to say stop bothering us, because Rioters have come out multiple times saying they don't read the forums and have sometimes even said they dislike the forums existing all together. Riot won't see this post, but I still think its worth looking into

Hello, I know this maybe be a bit of a strange "solution", but maybe try to look up some custom skins. There is a custom skin called Autumn Sona, you can find it on Mobaskins :). Even tho its not perfect, the ultimate is more of red(ish) than the original one.

Or maybe you could ask someone from the community to make you a custom skin with which you could see her spells properly :).

It may be insensitive but I find it amusing how even the MIA ping is yellow.
