so as you know, this game has been going on for 9 years now, therefore i suppose there has to be many of you who figured this out by now, im a season 2 player, sadly im only gold v rn on a smurf account i havent played on since season 3, because my main got banned, anyhow, i wonder how placements work after a ranked season, is your mmr reset and are you again starting as if you were unranked the season before or are you placed in an elo based on the mmr of your last season + your placements?

I'm pretty sure they consider your original rank, but it doesn't exactly put you in the same place. They do try to boost you with greater LP gains and smaller losses if you're something like a Plat player who got placed in Silver 3.
