Does riot hate mages?

So a few weeks have gone by since the AP item reworks......outside of mid lane (where mages make up the vast majority of champs) playing mages sucks. We don't see them in the jungle, AND THEY ARE THE WORST SUPPORTS.

is still trash. now sucks. ruined. totally trashed.

Overall, its a class crowded out by tanks (with hefty damage) and ADCs who can now 1v1 with impunity (burst, sustain, mobility etc.). With 8.6, we'll notice AD assassins are getting big buffs.

Whats gives? Any chance someone has a good explanation?

Looking forward to being able to play karma or zyra support again someday without tanks and AD completely crowding them out.

I play Vlad/Galio so for me morelleo+Liandrys is good for me but idk for other mages.

Well, as ludens echo lost 10 ap and 10% movement for 500 mana and 20% cdr, so I’d say those are some huge buffs

Rylize: well, considering this turns mages into gnar, it’s pretty good. I think that it’s suppose to be a power loss for zoning/ Kiting ability. Plus it helps the other item you hate, liandries, Burn people for 2% their max health during long trades. (Ya know, like kiting tanks or something...)

Hmmm, for the other two I feel like their good, but can’t cite the exact reasoning behind it. Blind optimism? Naive? Possibly. I just like offering some optimism to things that feel angry. I think the item changes offer a lot more tactical power over default best path, always buy items. Playing Annie recently I was destroying even tanks with my burst, so I have very positive views of the items.

Personally zyra's my favorite champ right now and usually rush ryalis on her for the utlity.

item 3151 rush on zyra/brand is pretty bad right now, better off rushing item 3116 and/or item 3916

item 3165 is situational if they have heals or not, if they don't have too much healing to reduce you just don't complete the item 3916

I know most zyra mains do item 3020 item 3916 rush for full pen right now

As for mid lane zyra, item 3285 was a God send for her. 20% CDR, wave clear and burst.... Everything she needs/wants.
