Masteries arent a measure of skill, only of how long you've been playing a champ.

You have to play a long time to unlock those mastery levels, dozens of games, and even more when you start farming for the Mastery 6 and 7 shards.

So don't even bring that bullshit in here, they should know how to play their champion at that point.

Why should they? What about that extra length of time forces a player to learn?

A player can hit mastery 7 with a 0% win rate, so there is no should involved here. Sure, it would be exceptionally hard to hit mastery 7 that way, but it's nowhere near that hard to hit 5 like that, and the simple fact that 7 is even possible in that way should say a lot.
