Yasuo Is Unbalanced in Patch 5.22
Before I begin, let's review the new Warlord's Bloodlust mastery before I explain why Yasuo is too powerful this patch. Warlord's Bloodlust makes crits heal the user for 15% of the damage dealt and gives 20% attack speed for 4 seconds with a total cooldown of a mere two whole seconds. This is absolutely insane on Yasuo considering most builds end up giving him 100% Crit Chance mid-late game. Now let's review Yasuo's incredibly unbalanced state right now:
- Skill Level Requirement Yasuo can be played from Silver to Challenger successfully. This is a relatively low skill requirement for a massive lane bully and is insanely powerful the entire game, even if he doesn't stomp in lane like he usually does. As long as he isn't beaten by a LeBlanc or another hard counter, he will dominate the mid-late game with even decent positioning and good third q casts in team fights. Top this off with a free heal every other auto or so, and you've got something near unstoppable unless focused hard with a ton of hard Crowd Control.
- Professional Play Yasuo is a completely viable pick in pro play, seeing some play in LCS, Worlds (I think), etc. He was already a viable pick in pro play, and with the recent masteries rework (specifically Warlord's Bloodlust) Yasuo is sure to see more play. Being that he's certainly going to be a very strong pick for professional play due to Warlord's Bloodlust, it's fair to say that the pros know who's the strongest and I'm sure many will agree that Yasuo is simply too strong in that regard. Ekko recieved nerfs after dominating in professional play, shouldn't Yasuo recieve the same treatment as well?
- Reasons Yasuo was already strong before 5.22 was released. With the new changes to items such as Trinity Force, Yasuo has become stronger. Trinity Force was already an unquestionably strong item on Yasuo. With more crit chance, it becomes even more powerful for Yasuo. Combine that with the power of healing every auto-attack or Steel Tempest cast (save the third), Yasuo gains a stronger survivability that was previously unheard of from a Yasuo. Yasuo has become much too strong and makes every experience playing against a Yasuo, that you didn't directly counterpick, an absolute nightmare.
- The Environment and Shifting Meta for Preseason 6 So far, ADC's (as expected) and certain other champions have become very strong with now built in sustain and greater survivability in teamfights as long as they kite and get at least a couple of crits. Yasuo has benefited almost too much from the recent changes and updates to items and masteries. Yasuo, having already been heavily reliant on Critical Strikes, gained an exceedingly large buff from the recent changes. Yasuo has become much too strong to handle, and unless he's absolutely crushed and camped by the jungler, he will dominate the game from start to finish. Yasuo is much too strong and should certainly receive a small nerf at the very least. Overall, playing against a Yasuo isn't fun at all and completely ruins the game for the majority of the players against the Yasuo. Due to overwhelming evidence, Yasuo should be re-balanced. EDIT: Facts about Yasuo and his winrate based off of Platinum rank and above: Yasuo's win rate from patch 5.21-5.22 has increased 1.86% to 51.86%. This is 1.86% higher than the average win rate of all Mid lane champions. Yasuo's play rate from patch 5.21-5.22 has increased 2.12% to 15.53%. This is an 11.69% higher play rate than the average play rate of all Mid lane champions. This shows that people know Yasuo is exceedingly strong and successful. Previously, LeBlanc did very well against Yasuo but now, in patch 5.22 Yasuo has a 54.44% win rate against LeBlanc. The evidence above has come from the website "champion.gg"
