I'd honestly say its changing for the worse overall.
More champions are unbalanced than before, they removed a lot of good features (Team Builder, Dominion, a client that worked) and some useful items and basically its all "learn 2 pro" with esports teams and plays being basically dumped in our lap nonstop. Jungle gold is down (meaning the jungler ends up feeding my lane or getting fed off my opponent which is beyond annoying) from before and the Team Builder that allowed you to use any champ in any role is gone for the thing it was supposed to fix: Blind pick. Draft mode takes way too long and if somebody leaves its another 5-10+ minute wait. URF was gutted and now only exists as some bastardized "all random" mode where premades with 15 champions (all OP in that mode) can just queue in and destroy everybody. As with the Aatrox update, they aren't listening to anybody or taking their feedback in any consideration and their entire idea on the future of League is "What does Riot want for League" as opposed to "what do the players want for League?" which is best expressed in that forced migration to the new client, which has significantly ruined game after game from the laggy, bug-riddled code they assured us was ready for launch.
They also tend to change champion kits based on pro winrates or "what they feel is best" in how to play a champion, removing a lot of possibilities so I feel creative builds are frowned upon or at worse, prevented by little kit changes. Same two rotating game modes almost every damn week and honestly, most of my friends who got me on here quit over the last two years. For me its not so much as change being bad, but unnecessary change and change for the sake of saying you created change being bad for business.
