Riven or Renekton

Riven: Pros: -High Damage -High Mobility -Scales Well -Snowballs hard as FUCK -Insane Engage Potential -Rarely Banned -Some of the TOP Challenger players are riven mains (Viper)

Cons: -Very difficult to play efficiently (Animation cancels and stuff) -A lot of the "pros" I mentioned only really help if you know how to play her -Her most important mechanic also happens to be the hardest one to learn... (Fast combo) -Faces very difficult matchups (Generally, champs like panth and renek can shit on riven if she isn't careful)

ONLY GET HER IF YOU'RE WILLING TO SPEND THE TIME TO LEARN HER NUANCES

both have CC, both have high burst AD dmg, both have alot of mobility, its honestly a preference on do you want to do damage and be tanky (innately) or do damage and do damage while doing damage

riven is loads of fun to play

Go renekton. Easier to play, better team fighting, beats riven in lane

Riven is higher risk and sucks in late game team fights (unless fed as hell). One CC or Exhaust shuts her down so hard. With Reneton you have some decent team fighting capabilities at least. Even if behind.

I would agree with alot of what has been already said, but ill just add my two cents. I personally love Riven from the moment I purchased her, and I never wanted to main any other champ. Renekton is Very similar though, and easier. He's similar by an aoe q, a stun, dash, and an ult that empowers yourself. Trading feels similar. Renek is easier because his q gives sustain, his health regen is better, his base is tanker (more health and armor) while still out damaging most top laners, and if you're behind building tank doesn't conflict your kit. What does Riven do better? Sex appeal. She pumps out more damage in shorter time frame, but it's not easy. I mean, Veigar can kill you from 100% by pressing R, while Riven you have to er1->flash->aa->wq->aa hydra->r2q. But when you do well with Riven and win the game, it's a great feeling.

i like renek as he has more innate power while riven is more skill based.

Renek will typically be more effective and safer to pick than Riven, but Riven is more fun to play and functions well if she isn't counter picked.

Personally I prefer to play Riven, but thats just me.
