Kalista a BAD choice for other champions in Blindpick

I want to talk about Kalista being played in blindpick. Kalistas strength is in her binding with another champion. This is not a problem if the player she is binding with agrees to the binding. Obviously if friends play together or in the higher tiers where as a strategic advantage Kalista may be picked. For me as a lol player when I come to play I am expecting a good game, am expecting to possibly be part of good team work and so on. This does not extend to be unwillingly drawn like a pawn into another players game plan where I am basically his slave (Where is my choice in this?). Support is already bad enough. No insult intended to players who main support champions. Each to his own.

However in blindpick the person is picking Kalista for various reasons least of which may be “I just want to try her.” At this point the person will “select a victim” to bind with. The Black Spear is thrown and that is that. The “selected” player (has no choice) whether they like it or not, or want to or not, is now bound to her. This is made worse if the player troll picks Kalista. This is the person who deliberately waits till the last second to pick, so no one can object with enough time left for them to change to a different champion. Usually followed with insincere apologies when their ….. error is pointed out.

This pick is usually in spite of the fact that the only position needing to be filled may have been either jungle or support. This player now usurps the ADC role and expects the “team” to rally round him. He can even bind with the player that originally picked the ADC role and his champion accordingly, forcing that player into the support role and the forced player has no choice in the matter. In fact the troll player has the power to bind with anyone on the team in spite of the fact that no one on the team, due to his troll pick, has the desire to be bound to him.

This is very much like a person who is a smoker smoking within an environment where non-smokers are present. By exercising his right to smoke he is violating the right of the non-smoker not to smoke. Riot should consider putting in a reject bind option, for those players that don’t want to be bound. By the introduction of an agreed binding this may encourage greater co-operation by players agreeing to be bound or even specialist Kalista & support “bound couples.”

you make it sound like kalista ult is rape...

You can play literally any support with Kalista, when people ask me what support I want I just tell them to play whatever they're comfortable with. Even if it means I only use ult as a thresh lantern, that's good enough. You don't have to build a team around kalista.

"Kalistas strength is in her binding with another champion."

AHAHAHAHAHA! No, really, I cannot laugh enough. Kalista does not need her % magic damage or ult to be the ridiculously imbalanced and overpowered terror that she is. Those are just bonuses on top of the most ridiculously overpowered passive in the game, and one of the best AD scaling abilities in the game.

CertainlyT needs to be CertainlyFired.

Kalista, Yasuo, Rek'sai, Gnar, almost everything this guy designs is clearly and blatantly overpowered. I'm not even sure all of which he's designed by man the track record is pretty ridiculous. I think he did Vel'koz, and it's a miracle Vel'koz is actually decent... even then, cheaper spells than most mages and 3/4 abilities with crowd control attached (I think being Manaless or near-Manaless defines this guy's design almost as much as Knock-ups, Max Health and/or True damage, Multiple forms of Crowd Control, Multiple passives, High mobility, etc).

Did he do Lee Sin too? I'm pretty sure he did Riven. Lee's ridiculously overloaded kit seems like his style.

tl;dr - The whole binding thing is irrelevant next to Kalista's ridiculous passive. That she also gets max % health damage and a knock-up is just redundantly overpowered.
