Why Draven can't auto attack while rooted?

Hi summoners, I'm playing since 1 year and everytime when I get rooted (with my 2 axes) I can't realize basic attacks. That's frustating since can do the damage to kill the one that roots you, with many other champs like Ashe, Varus, etc. You are able but with draven + axes why not? [draven-pose]

because that's what roots do why should he be the exception to the rule?

both ashe and varus are using abilities not auto attacks.
