Just downloaded league after not playing since april of last year

Hey everyone! I just first of all want to say, holy shit, over 40 new skins since I last logged in? and 5 new champions with pretty different mechanics compared to old releases. I wanted to ask are there any major changes since last year I should take a look at? I loved playing as Lissandra, Katarina, Sona, Rumble, Vel Koz, Karma, Syndra and Ziggs. Any new items I should look at or major changes to those items? Thanks! I'm probably going to start back up playing ARAM just because its comfortable and I would rather not play bots.

pretty much check out the season 6 changes. these mages you play are not very strong in this meta but karma is getting buffed and vel koz reworked this year. many item changes but not ap items

Thanks man! Which champ should I get? I would like one of the newer ones. Would ekko, kindred or jhin be better for me? I do play adc sometimes, and when I do I prefer jinx, miss fortune, ezreal, or lucian. As for assassins I like kat, fizz, shaco, or akali.
