Double tap to self cast?

I've been playing League for a few years now and one thing that's always bothered me. Champions who have abilities that can be either casted on allies or themselves can be kinda frustrating. Having to hover your champ in an intense situation is kinda frustrating, and having to change the way my hand is positioned on the keyboard to hover over alt makes things a little complicated.

That's why I propose we add double tapping to self cast an ability as a quality of life change. It's in essentially every other MOBA out there, including Heroes of Newerth. When HoN has a feature that you don't, you know there's a problem.

Hold alt. You can change it to shift or ctrl. You can probably change it to other things as well, but I haven't tried it.

It's not that hard to hold alt with your thumb with fingers on qwer imo, but you can rebind self cast to whatever suits you.

Double tapping wouldn't work because of some abilities which already have double cast mechanics, not to mention quick cast would result in a lot of potential cases where you just cast quickly when intending to quick cast (or perhaps the reverse).

Sometimes people will find themselves spamming a button in order to cast it ASAP once a stun or whatever runs out too, and it'd be pretty painful to self cast unintentionally in those chaotic teamfight situations.

i see that as more of a liability since most players that i see have it set to quick cast

Umm there is a self cast button already in the game.

Do you not use your thumb for alt? Just move your thumb from the space bar to alt.
