Need advice on Climbing/ Pro play

Hey guys

I've been taking this game seriously and making an effort to improve everyday. I have been playing Tryndamere to climb elo and am doing well as I know I should be getting high diamond if I want to every consider playing pro.

However It hit me that a champ like trynd is never played in pro tournaments because of how easily his kit can be abused. So I've been trying to learn new champs like rumble and though I'm doing alright in my games, I'm losing so much lp because I haven't mastered him like I have trynd.

So the question I have is, should I be focusing on climbing elo atm ( stick to one trick) and then diversify my champion pool, or should I be trying to climb with meta champs which is going to take much longer but will diversify my champion pool.

I refuse to play tanks like naut, until I'm diamond because it's solo Q. However I'm trying rumble, renekton which are great carry champs and meta atm. However I'm tbh shit on them compared to trynd.

climbing elo is nice but the main goal is to improve as a top lanerplayer. So do you think I should be focusing on the elo and then diversify my champion pool? Or should I be trying to climb with a variety of champs even though that means taking longer to climb just so I'm more suited to team play?

Thanks for the advice.

climb with your one trick, get to your peak and then spam normals with the other champions or, the better option make another account (aka a smurf) and do not play trynd with it at all just the 1-3 champions you want to expand with climb with them and go from there.

the problem with trynd is, he promotes brainless dives and engages as you have that silly unkillable ultimate, now i'm not saying you or other trynds do brainless plays at all but just his design in general promotes it and you get used to that style or some what at certain times, risk free play.

  • ofcoure the higher you get the more risky he becomes as he is actually extremely easy shut down and countered, like yasuo.

  • as you are used to having an ultimate like this why not try Fiora, who also heals and is very strong right now.

  • Ekko > never been weak but has a skill cap but also has that second life your used too.

either spam normals or make a smurf account and climb with new champions and never use trynd on it.

High diamond is far from "playing pro". If you ever consider joining the pro scene, you need to be high challenger. Also, it's generally not a good idea to learn champions in ranked.

As you said it yourself, main goal for you should be to improve as a player, so focus on that, preferably in normals.

Play your one-trick especially if you find him fun. When you reach the point where you seem to be countered every game, then start diversifying your champ pool. The higher you climb, the more of a meta slave you will have to be but I think you can get to diamond with him. Gl!
