Silver 2 and up

So the season just started and I was just as excited as everyone else to get straight to the ranked grind. I was placed in Silver 5 and I climbed to Silver 2 in about a week. This is when it all stopped. Before I start my rant I'd like so say there are many things I can improve on. I am nowhere near the best player and I'm not here to wave around my ego and tell you how everything is always the teams fault, that's not what I'm here to do. I'm in fact here to talk about the late game. specifically after laning phase is finished. I've noticed as soon as I got to Silver 2 nobody knows what to do in the late game. Most of the time you tell someone something they get really really sensitive and mute you or ping you 1000 times. Sure we can mute pings and conversation but that just makes the game so much harder to win and communicate. I find when my entire team is ahead and laning finishes they just proceed to go for kills and the lead starts to flip. When you tell them to group they just ignore you and do whatever they feel like mostly resulting in them 1v2 or 3 because they think "I'm so fed there is no way to lose this game". Everyone is a lost soul in terms of the late game in at least 75% of the games i play. Nobody knows how to contest objectives... They think they HAVE to fight for everything. Silver doesn't seem balanced in the slightest. There are really really well coordinated players that know exactly what they are doing and then there are a ton of terrible lost players that I don't even see how they made it here. Most of my games go past the 30-35 minute mark because most of the time if were ahead we mess around for some kills for a bit. I'm guilty of this too. I feel like Silver is such a huge obstacle in terms of climbing. I know a lot of you will say just focus on objectives and or solo carry games. I'm not a diamond or plat player it's not easy for someone currently in Silver to solo carry a game. I'm not the best myself but there are so many games that are just thrown away because of the lack of team effort. Riot does a great job of punishing players who int/afk or have negative attitude but I don't believe this is the biggest problem. The lack of balance in Silver is the biggest problem. It's a total coin toss. Most of the time I do well in my games. (I still make mistakes and make a lot of bad plays). I try to ward as much as I'm able and I try to lead as much as I can but more than half the time people tell me to shut up and just go do their own thing. I'm not good enough to solo carry a game by any means. You shouldn't have to solo carry to move up in the ranks. This is a team game and you need to have a coordinated team to win. Team fights are always really random and it seems like nobody knows how to focus or peel it's more of "attack anyone I see and my team will probably be okay". There are time to disengage and that's very rare in this elo. Everyone thinks they need to fight to the death. Anywhoo I know I'm part of the other 543258432 people ranting about this issue but the balance really needs to get fixed. There is no consistency in Silver and it is very difficult to climb being an average player. As I said before I'm not good enough to solo carry.

You have no idea how many games i lost because our fed ADC would suddenly start dying 1 versus 4.Man,it is so but so infuriating.

Having monkeys in your team that believe objectives are worthless and running after enemies for kills in the fog of war only to die and give free kills and the entire game to the enemy.

What's more infuriating is when the particular guy who started griefing ,is like "wtf is this shit?".

Silver Tier has a lot of games like this.Gold is even worse,no doubt about it.

Bruh, this is so real. I'm normally in Gold but placed Silver 4 and this is a glaring issue in most of my games. Teams don't know how to play from behind after laning phase or what to do when you're snowballing. Just had a game today where we had a clear advantage but then our ADC starting picking random skirmishes by themself and getting killed. Its REALLY had to do anything on the map as a team without your ADC, so that sets us back 40+ seconds plus them coming back out onto the map.

Thankfully right afterwards we had a game where our ADC(Seriously, what is with the ADCs this season?) got STOMPED early, but thankfully we coached him through what to do with behind, don't push past river, wait for minions to come to you. We'll ward up and keep you safe, and boom, they passed the enemy ADC eventually.

I kind of want to write a "Silver to Gold" guide since it feels like there is a massive difference between the two, the mechanics are the same, but the game sense is missing. Might want to wait until I can prove that I can carry myself back into Gold myself haha

This isn't just happening in Silver. Gold 2 at the moment, and I just had a game where my team was trying to push mid against an Azir. We were sitting in front of their tier 2 mid tower for about 2 minutes while I was spam pinging to back off and try to baron, since they had no vision there because they were under tower. Sneak out Baron, then push again, but no, we spend about 5 minutes sieging a tower, just to let the enemy team try to catch up.

I just spam pinged my team to leave and go to baron. Did it once, twice, three times, eventually they listened. We trapped them at baron, we took a teamfight, we took baron, we pushed, we ended. Simple as that.

Just spam ping. Even if they don't listen, keep spamming it. Even type it in chat in all caps. It seems harsh or I don't know what else, but it's the only way. If your game sense is good and you know you make correct calls, then take it upon yourself and try to lead your team through any way possible. That's what I do. I trust myself to make the right call and it works like 90% of the time.

Got placed in Silver 1 (I've never quite made it to gold) and so far I haven't had this issue. I mean obviously some people are gonna get tilted or troll or whatever no matter where you are, but I've had an easy enough time directing my team when you get to that place when you're super ahead but people keep dying one at a time and it feels like things are gonna spiral out of control soon - people seem to be listening fine.

Either your specific division is much more full of people that don't listen, or something about the way I give advice/direction doesn't bug people as much...? I dunno.

Yeah man I agree, last season I got placed in S5 then climbed to S2 at a good pace. Then all of a sudden, bad matches. No one had any idea what to do. I might have another go this season.

I am stack in silver 2 now, it is extremely hard to get out of silver because there is a lot of skilled player in high silver with high competition because everyone on high silver wants to reach gold, so that’s why it is very difficult in silver 2. Play with your friends together will be a good idea.

honestly silver people are pretty ass, your best bet is a decent duo, silver is awful without at least one other person to know what theyre doing

If you aren't on a champ that can take objectives safely alone, you are better off just going with the flow. If you have a bloodthirsty team constantly looking for fights instead of dragon/turrets, you just have to deal with it. You will get more done doing a bad play together than trying to do a good play alone. The only time this isn't true is if you are capable of doing things solo. There are champs that can do that. Good split pushers, strong junglers, etc. If you are some immobile ADC you are better off just TDMing with your team than trying to solo push some turret in a side lane and getting killed or letting your team get run over.

Its a hard peel to swallow, and incredibly annoying. But you just have to work with what you got. Just trust in your ability to kill more people and eventually get the objectives down. I used to just keep doing my own thing. Cuss my team because they are fighting in the jungle when I know its a bad idea so I'm off pushing a side wave as Ashe or something. And then they die, rage, we lose objectives, etc. I learned that even though I KNOW its a bad idea, its going to go better if I'm there.

Botlane is a microcosm of end-game, if you play ADC/support. Sometimes you have an overly passive or an overly aggressive partner. You have to learn to work with what you got if you hope to succeed. Same with a team fighting all the time.
