Jungling has been changed over the league years, and i'm here to introduce you to season 5 jungling. If you think i'm Faker in the jungle, turn away now. I'm just a scrub, except I have a bit more knowledge in jungling, as it has been one of my main roles since season 3.

I'm happy to take any tips on what to improve in this guide, errors, etc. :) Note: There is a glossary at the bottom for anyone who doesn't understand any acronyms (short forms for words)

HOW TO START JUNGLING

First of all, in the new jungle, the camps hurt. A LOT. So some basic tools you'll need are: -A good beginner jungling champion -Some runes (sorry levels 20 and under, you'll need tier 3s :P) -THE GOD OF THE JUNGLE summoner 11 summoner 11 summoner 11 SMITE. If you're a beginner in the jungle, and you don't have smite, you're kinda screwed. -Hunter's Freaking Machete!!!!!!! item 1039 item 1039 item 1039 -Some general jungle knowledge (camp buffs, reset timers, accurate smiting, stealing, juggling, etc)

BEGINNER JUNGLING CHAMPIONS

So first on the list would be a good beginner jungle champion. These include (in my opinion)

-Warwick, the Blood Hunter. Warwick

I think Warwick belongs on the list for his nice sustain in the jungle and great level 6 and above ganks with his Infinite Duress, an amazing suppress ultimate without much skill being needed to pull those ganks off.

-Trundle, the Troll King. Trundle

Trundle is a great choice because of his attack speed and movement speed steroid that helps him around the jungle and attack faster, as well as his King's Tribute passive, which allows him to sustain nicely, as well as easy ganks, a essential for newbies.

-Hecarim, the Pony of War. Hecarim

The Pony is a nice beginner's jungler (except for the high influence point cost) as his w regenerates his health, and his q is a great clearing skill, with his e and r being his main ganking abilities, with easy ganks enabled.

-Aatrox, the Darkin Blade. Aatrox

Aatrox has flat out great sustain with his w, and great easy ganks with his knockup gap closer skill and his slow. That's literally Aatrox in a nutshell.

-Jarvan IV, the Exemplar of Demacia. JarvanIV

Jarvan IV (Abbreviated J4) has some great clears with his flag steroid buff and his shield, and his ganks are great as well with his flag having a secret lock on mode that knocks up opponents when you hit it with your q.

-Dr. Mundo, the Madman of Zaun. DrMundo

Dr. Mundo has a lot of nice features, although mainly being a farmer, can gank with his amazing cleaver spam for a great slow as you burn them. He's also a very good late/mid game tank, which is a main reason I put him here.

That's it for champions for now!

BASIC RUNES FOR JUNGLING

Okay, runes. First of all, here are the different types of runes: Marks: The red offensive ones Glyphs: The blue magic-involving ones Seals: The yellow defensive ones Quintessences: The gold/purple super runes that have everything

Depending on the type of champion, you'll need different types of rune sets. I'll seperate them for you:

Attack Damage Champions (Lee Sin for example)

AD Marks Armor Seals Magic Resist Glyphs AD Quintessences

This is the BASIC setup for Attack Damage Champion runes.

Ability Power Champions (Diana for example)

Magic Penetration Marks Armor Seals AP Glyphs AP Quintessences

This is the BASIC setup for Ability Power Champion runes.

Attack Speed Champions (Warwick for example)

Attack Speed Marks Armor Seals Magic Resist Glyphs Attack Speed Quintessences

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! The basic runes for jungling.

GENERAL JUNGLE KNOWLEDGE

This will include jungle timers, juggling, all camps, Baron and Dragon, and counterjungling.

(IN PROGRESS)

ADVANCED JUNGLING

Moving on to advanced jungling, (oh boy this is gonna take a while)

We have advanced rune setups, items, mastery setups, and advanced jungling champions. (I'll be adding the masteries and advanced jungling champions later.)

ADVANCED RUNE SETUPS

Self-explanatory, some rune setups are quite unique, such as movement speed and cooldown reduction.

Cooldown Reduction Champions (Rengar for example?)

AD/AP Marks Armor Seals 6 Cooldown Reduction Glyphs, 3 Magic Resist/AP Glyphs AD/AP Quintessences

I feel like i'm missing something, so I might fill something in later.

ITEMS

Oh jeez, this guide is getting longer by the line! But items are very versatile, and the most i can tell you is the hunter's machete upgrade varies on playstyle and current scenario greatly. Also, most of the time, recommended items are kinda bad. For instance, Warwick will probably go with Ranger's Trailblazer, because of the unique passive, smite a camp and it will grant you some mana and health, as well as splashing the damage on to surrounding camps while stunning all of the smited monsters. I might as well tell you the four different upgrades and the four different enchantments.

This part is copied/pasted from leagueoflegendswikia.com (Three Cheers For Wiki and Rito for making LoL!)

Ranger's Trailblazer item 3713

+30 Gold on Large Monster Kill UNIQUE: Upgrades Smite to Blasting Smite. Blasting Smite deals 50% splash damage to all surrounding minions and monsters and stuns all damaged units for 1.5 seconds. If cast on a monster, you will also restore 15% of your missing health and mana. UNIQUE - JUNGLER: Deals 45 magic damage to monsters on hit over 2 seconds and gain 10 Health Regen and 5 Mana Regen per second in combat with monsters.

Poacher's Knife item 3711

+30 Gold on Large Monster Kill UNIQUE: Upgrades Smite to Scavenging Smite. If Scavenging Smite is used on a large monster in the enemy's jungle, the recharge timer is halved. Upon killing the affected monster, you gain 20 bonus gold and 175% bonus movement speed that decays over 2 seconds. UNIQUE - JUNGLER: Deals 45 magic damage to monsters on hit over 2 seconds and gain 10 Health Regen and 5 Mana Regen per second in combat with monsters.

Skirmisher's Sabre item 3715

+30 Gold on Large Monster Kill UNIQUE: Upgrades Smite to Challenging Smite. Challenging Smite can target enemy champions, marking them for 6 seconds. Marked enemies are revealed (does not reveal stealth), take (54 + 6 × level) true damage over 3 seconds from your basic attacks and deal 20% reduced damage to you. UNIQUE - JUNGLER: Deals 45 magic damage to monsters on hit over 2 seconds and gain 10 Health Regen and 5 Mana Regen per second in combat with monsters.

Stalker's Blade item 3706

+30 Gold on Large Monster Kill UNIQUE: Upgrades Smite to Chilling Smite. Chilling Smite can be cast on enemy champions, dealing (20 + 8 × level) true damage and stealing 20% of their movement speed for 2 seconds. UNIQUE - JUNGLER: Deals 45 magic damage to monsters on hit over 2 seconds and gain 10 Health Regen and 5 Mana Regen per second in combat with monsters.

Oh jeez that was loonggggggggg, onto the enchantments.

Juggernaut Enchantment (The Green Gem) item 3709 item 3717 item 3721 item 3725

+500 health +10% cooldown reduction UNIQUE - TENACITY: The duration of most forms of crowd control is reduced by 35%.

Devourer Enchantment (The Purple Gem) item 3710 item 3718 item 3722 item 3726

+50% attack speed UNIQUE - DEVOURING: Basic attacks deal 25 (+Devourer stacks) bonus magic damage. Scoring a champion kill or assist will grant 2 Devourer stacks and killing a large monster will grant 1.

Warrior Enchantment (The Red Gem) item 3707 item 3714 item 3719 item 3723

+40 attack damage (was nerfed in last patch, -5 attack damage) +10% cooldown reduction +10 armor penetration

Magus Enchantment (The Blue Gem) item 3708 item 3716 item 3720 item 3724

+80 ability power +20% cooldown reduction

And that's about it for items (for now)!

CONCLUSION

This has been a great time making a guide for you new junglers, I wish you a nice stay on the Jungle Resort at Summoner's Rift! Remember, this is a non profit guide that I made just for some clarification :) I don't really care about "thumbs up" or anything, just hope someone notices the work I poured into this so someone can learn a thing or two. :)

The new jungle is so hard-hitting, and I often fall behind like 3-4 levels if I'm behind. I don't read any reasoning behind Riot changes but idk what motivated them to make the jungle so hard. I can't even imagine how terrifying it must be for new players without runes or jungling knowledge.

This just in, J4 is a much worse off jungling champion.

If you don't have the slightest clue of what you're doing, exploits to use, you're going to be fucked playing J4 jungle.

You forgot the most important thing.

If the enemy team gets J4 or Lee Sin first and aren't literally brain dead, you need to do a prayer before starting the game that you will be able to farm past level 10.
