Summoner Spells and Queue Dodging

So, getting into a game. You select your champ, set up your masteries, runes, and summoner spells. Someone dodges the queue. You get into another game. You forget to change your summoners because you think you already changed them and you end up going flash/heal top as Maokai (spoiler alert: I didn't really die).

I'm just wondering why it doesn't save your summoners on change, but actually playing. Anyway, thoughts?
