My Response to Riot's Satisfaction Survey
Tell me what you think! It's a bit of a rant, but I'll leave a TL;DR at the top. :)
TL;DR: Turrets are too weak; champion balance needs a lot of work; snowballing games aren't fun; too many champions; death timers are too long; League isn't fun anymore.
In Season 5's late patches, I would recommend League to just about anyone. The new map, new jungle, fresh visuals, and simply compelling game play was great. Now? Not so much. Nexus turrets are the weakest turrets when they should be the strongest. Games are decided in the first 10:00 because of snowballing. Baron and Dragon buffs aren't really as worthwhile anymore since turrets can be easily destroyed without them. Again with turrets: a single minion will get rid of almost all of a turret's armor. Really? That's just unnecessary. Turrets are supposed to be a challenge. Players should FEAR them and accidentally getting in range of one. Dives are easier than making pancakes with Bisquick. It's ridiculous. Sure, a turret shouldn't one-shot players at level 1, but holy crap!! You can kill the outer turret within TWO WAVES of minions! It's happened in 80% of games I have played. Mostly in botlane, but still. The entire friggin' team gets gold when they did nothing to help! And that gold even worsens the snowballing pandemic. That's the other thing. If a team is 10-0, it is with out question their game. There is zero counterplay to that because of assist gold and global turret gold. The bounty system needs to be reworked; 200 gold won't do much against a 2,000 gold-lead enemy. And I loved League. I really did. It was engaging, challenging, yet still balanced. Not anymore, though. It's a mess. 100+ champions and only 6 bans total? Really? It's clear that the developer is struggling to balance all those different champions and matchups, which is completely understandable. THERE ARE TOO MANY CHAMPIONS TO KEEP TRACK OF! Even LCS players have BOOKS of information because of all of the possible team compositions. A healthy number would be around 80, with maybe a public voting system to archive out-of-date champions. Yes, refunds would be necessary, but it would make League what it used to be. A community game. Not a complex 1,000,000+ puzzle with 1/10 players screaming at you. Please, Riot, hear my plea: fix this game. I want to love it. I really do. But I just can't. Not now. Not while it's broken.
.its ridiculous.
