How to win a 4v5? (Described my particular situation below)

First off, my bad if this is in the wrong place. This is my first post. This is not meant to be complaint for AFkS heck, I do not care for AFKs. Happens to us all right? So this game, was wuk top, shaco jg, ahri mid, ashe adc, lux supp and my team was garen top (me), xin jg, annie mid, vayne adc, soraka supp The entire game annie was AFK. I won lane, put wuk behind. Shaco was not fed really, nor ahri. Just ashe and lux had a few kills and xin seemed behind.

My strategy: I am pretty ahead, i have a substantial farm lead, I can tank well, do good damage and all. I was practically unkillable to some extent. Now, my vayne xin and sor are kind of behind. I do not think we can group push and force 4v5 fights whether it was for turrets or drags. I feel as though their team would just go after vayne kill her, then xin then sor and I would probably be bursted down. So, my plan was to just split. I held mid and bot somewhat. I just kept pushing top, trying to get top inhib and trying to force a few them on me so my team can push or take fights where have the advantage. I kind of DC'd once and died and they got inhibs. They eventually won from that.

So story aside and I am sorry that was long, but how could I have one? Should i of grouped with them and try to win fights (abusing my early lead, though the rest didnt do well)? Was splitting the better decision (forcing enemies on me (huehuehue))?
Thanks BRONZE IV P.S sorry if my name is offensive, I was on tilt and somehow that is an excuse for my name

generally, to win a 4v5 in the rare case, your team needs to be ahead as a whole and then you group with your team and pressure objectives and take everything you can, or you pick people off the other team, or you split push but other team can't deal with you for some reason.

for your game, the dc took a lot out of your chance of winning, that was fairly huge. your teams late game wasn't too bad to stalling out might have worked since they were behind. when you are ahead, you generally want to build damage until you need the tank stats.

looking at your build, it's actually fine. split pushing was ok, but grouping with your team might have been ok if you could tank enough and your team could do enough damage. generally, that dc really, really took away your chance of winning that game since when you dced, you died and other took inhib and your team lost control at that point.

it's good that you are looking for what you could have done, though you can't always win and sometimes you just have to accept that. good luck to your future game.

one thing that helps with this is watching higher ranked streams and see the type of things they do. also find out why they do certain things like why they max certain abilities and small things like that, not just the big things. the more you know about the game, the easier it is to decide on the right choice.

Yeah i do that a lot. Hence, I felt like the way to win that game was to keep pressuring lanes to split push and win like that. That was based off of Trick2g

trick is good in a lot of ways since he can get a few people to either stop him and let his team take stuff, or he just takes it. he can do a lot more things also, but if he disconnected and died, it would have also made it very hard for him to win a 4v5. if you split push, you team is left 3v5 and vs supers so at that point, it can be really hard.

like trick has said, if there is no hope for a game, just do baron. there is nothing you can really lose at that point and maybe something to gain.

you played that 4v5 fairly well and they do tend to be losses. even if it's a loss, you learning what you can and trying to improve in the future does help you with future games and helps you climb.

also, you don't need to be the one to split push always, you can tell xin to instead while you stay with team and pressure else where or hold. just make sure the player you tell to split push understands what to do.
