I am with you there.
I was actually in a One for All game where we were Gnar and the enemy was Katarina. No one knew how to play Gnar (well) so bot side died a lot, to the point they lost the bot inhibitor before any other turret was destroyed. I, unfortunately, was mid and I did disgusting horrible (From my standards). My team was ready to give up because we told our banner to ban Kat but he/she decided not to and wanted to play Kat.
I changed my build to adapt to them, like building Maw of Mal. After losing my Outer mid turret, 5 Kats came down to take the inner mid turret at about 25 minutes in and I stood my ground, the lone force. Since Gnar is no burst mage, when the minions came under the turret, they all went for me.
Here is the interesting thing: I do not know if it is because I was in a solo lane, getting all the exp, and my few kills gave me a lead or if the sharing of exp and gold is that bad in duo lanes, but I managed to 1 v 5 and kill 3 of them in a instant, about 1 auto attack from killing the other two, turning the tide. (I never said bot side fed, I said they died a lot, so whichever Kat got those kills were neither comparable in level nor gold to me).
I was like 13/1 before my team decided to surrender. The only game where I did more than 'my part' and they surrendered. I was prepared to tell them my secrets-- Magic res: Maw, Wits End, Spirits Visage. Going to go Mercurial Scimitar. It was unfortunate that I did decently only for the others to quit. (Which will never, ever, happen again: I am a player that can do his/her part but could never carry a game). I really wanted to see where the game would take us. (Enough about my pathetic game)
There have been other games (The Gnar game was just recent enough to provide specifics) where my team has surrendered and some players were doing well but one enemy player was doing great. It is annoying. I have heard that Riot is changing the surrender system to where, upon an unanimous (5/5) vote, your team can surrender at 15 minutes in the game. I do not think I have to worry about this, as I always click No upon voting, but this is a sad option. ( I am curious to see what happens if one does not vote. 4/4 said yes out of 5 players)
I would suggest to Riot to get rid of the surrender vote but in exchange, as we ALL know that the trolls will probably AFK, the IP reward can be much greater, as a means of encouraging people to continue onward (some dumb idea that will never get passed, I know.)
HISTORY: Looking at my history: 29:35 Time. I was 18/1/0, level 18, 156 CS, and 13.3K gold. The Kat that was getting all the kills was 22/5/7, level 14, 124 CS, and 12.9K gold. Sooo.... Hmmm... This is proof that early game kills do not amount to as much as mid to late game kills, I guess.
