Issues On Ranked! Discuss about Call > Pick & Leaving Champ Select!

So I have been playing a lot of ranked recently and I realise some things.

Leaving Champ Select Punishments Since I spend the whole day playing ranked, sometimes in champ select, my teammates argue. Or steal mid/top or a role and then this other party goes "I'M TROLLING." I'd always wait till the very last second just incase someone leaves before me but most of the time people don't. I leave champ select because I don't want to waste my time playing a game that's most likely going to in up with a "DEFEAT" animation at the end and losing LP too. Since I play ranked a lot recently, and like a couple of days back I left champ select like about 3 times? The punishment was 30 minutes. I mean yea Rito is doing this probably to stop people from leaving but, I think it doesn't makes sense. Because that 30 minute punishment = almost 1 game.

I would honestly prefer losing albeit lp and wait 30 minutes; rather then playing a game, and losing it (and also more than 30 minutes) but I think the 30 minutes wait time is too severe?

Call > Pick Order & Pick > Call Order Like I mentioned above I have been playing a lot of ranked and since the pick order is now **randomised ** I just don't get it why people still say "Pick > Call" and instalock their champs. I mean yea for this part it's just me and some horrible players but I think that now with pick order randomised people should go by call instead of pick because the order is not arranged by skill anymore?

What do you guys think about those two points I've written above? It's just frustrating for me I guess, haha. I mean I could play any role as of now (except not really Jungle) but I want to play MID because I know that's where I can carry the game. BUT ANYWAYS. THOUGHTS ABOUT MY POST? Thanks for reading!

Because I think if you make it "Call>Pick Order", you are going to have people that won't diversify their Champ pool. They will only want to play Darius top and continue raging if they don't get it.

I can't remember the last time I did a regular normal blind pick game. SOOO many people wanting top/Mid that no one would be truly happy.

Imagine if you get an RNG roll on champ select where EVERYONE wanted mid. so who gets it? first person called? and because of latency of people getting in chat, is it fair that someone on their parents 60 Mb internet is in the chat window before a BETTER player maybe working off of his colleges wifi??

ranked SHOULD remain pick order. It's RNG. sometimes you're lucky, sometimes not.

So what you do is you get good, get a rank above bronze five because that's where trolls will be, and then you stop crying.

Pick order wins not because of your MMR, but because if you lock in a role you already know someone else is playing, you are the troll and will be reported. If a role is already filled and you intentionally screw with everyones game by doubling up on that role, you will be punished.

Has nothing to do with the reason behind the ranked ordering.

Your whole argument seems kinda flawed here.. I understand leaving because you're obv gonna have a bad game, but if there was no time punishment others (like myself) that never leave Queue regardless are gonna have to drop a ton of queues just so other people can continuously leave until they get what they want. As far as pick order goes... well, pick order. Any other method would be chaos. Try playing blind pick again sometime and let it sink in.

But seriously, just deal with it until you're ranked higher up and people will generally let you have your role if you're good at it. I'm only silver 5 and I regularly get my role because people will just lolking it and see that I can do what needs to be done.

You're wasting 9 people's time in the hopes that someone else will dodge for you. That's selfish.

The problem with dodging is that it has a really tight relationship with trolling. You might think life gets better with smaller dodge penalties, and for a while it would. The problem here is that trolls troll in ranked in order to get dodged. If they find that they're getting paid off more often, they'll troll more often. So you'll end up being more frustrated by trolling, rather than less.

Pick order is the superior system.

  • Everyone gets precisely equal chance to get each spot
  • No arguments about who called it first (lobby text is notoriously unreliable)
  • No advantage for players with faster internet connection or computer
