I started out in bronze 1 and I won 9 out of my 10 placement games and I ended up in bronze 5? wtf

How is it that I won 9 of my placement games and I ended up in bronze 5, was it because of the elo that I was playing at? I was also disappointed that I am still a bronzie. Sigh, thanks Rito, once again you have failed my expectations.
