Malzahar's Passive
What was the point of it again?
http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/patch/patch-69-notes
"Malzahar faces a constant dilemma: never use his abilities in lane or push constantly. This playstyle causes Malzahar to be very binary and non interactive; either he has enough AP to drop his spells on a wave and leave lane or he slowly pushes out, leaving him exposed to constant ganks."
...
Aside from the inaccurate description of old Malzahar's laning (Which was an art imo)
The part after that:
"As well, the nature of his ultimate - cancelable by any CC - makes Malzahar’s power curve binary by necessity: you either stop his channel or somebody dies."
As well as:
"In both cases, what Malzahar needs is leeway; a brief window of protection."
Basically saying that they want Malzahar to gain safety in exchange for less power.
A way to ult while still being safe.
From high risk-high reward to another safe niche champion.
Etc. Etc.
My question now is...
How does the current passive accomplish this?
The answer:
It doesn't.
Now why is that?
Because the shield that is suppose to keep your suppression up when you decide to go in will be down because it can be activated by nearly everything - Whether it be spell or auto attack -
And the question now is:
How would the passive be changed to accomplish its goal?
Which leads to:
What... Stops... Malzahar's... Ult...?
